So, what becomes of the #5???

Haha just saying. If he leaves Ganassi, it doesn't mean he won't have an opportunity in one of Chip's Indycars...
Fwiw, Kurt's 500 opportunity was with Andretti, not Penske. If that's what you meant.

Kyle seems pretty satisfied with CGR, even if he hasn't really cracked through yet. Earlier this week he was saying he was glad he gets to drive different types of cars with CGR and that Chip has been a great owner to him. I think he'll see out the end of his contract with that bunch. Although I expect his free agency to be a pretty interesting one in a few years.

Oh yeah. Jesus Christ I am burnt, batting .1000 lately.

I didn't want to hurt your feelings twice in 1 post.

If he leaves Ganassi, it doesn't mean he won't have an opportunity to divorce his wife and take up with a trained assassin. So there's that ...

I don't think you get where I'm comin' from.
I thought you had to win a Cup championship first. I know you have to get married before you can get divorced and hook up with a whackadoodle.

Kasey Kahne better hope for a win this year, otherwise his time at Hendrick is likely over.

Welcome to racing forums.com, where stats mean nothing and emotion clouds our judgement when it comes to drivers we like. I like Larson too. He did what he's done for 4 years, when it's crunch time he gets nervous over drives his car and gives away the win. He's also 21st in points. And Gannassi has given him rocket ships the past month and he still can't get the job done. So that excuse is gone. The problem is the guy behind the wheel. And I'm tired of this Joey Logano argument. For one, Joey had a TON of wins in ARCA, K&N, and nationwide, also winning in his second start in that series before he even got to cup. Even with his "awful" tenure at Gibbs he won twice. What makes the Logano thing unique is that it's very a rare a guy struggles like that then all of a sudden goes to another team and becomes an elite driver. That's like saying every 6th round QB is the next tom brady, yeah probs not.

Larson has all the Gordon fans that have no accountability for their driver and always make excuses for him. Just like old times! If it was anyone else other then Larson that kamakazyed into the wall you'd be saying how awful he is. There's such a thing as tough love, he's a grown man he's been in cup 3 years, time to quit treating him like a baby with training wheels on.

But even that argument falls flat. Jimmie Johnson was an average at best driver in the Busch Series but later became Six-Time. And the Logano argument still works because Gibbs was ready to ship Logano down to the Xfinity Series until Penske came in and made Logano the offer for the 22. I also point to Casey Atwood, who was also brought up to Cup too quickly and discarded when he didn't produce more results. Like Logano and Atwood, Larson needed more time in the Xfinity Series to mature.

I'm not saying that Larson is the next Jeff Gordon. He'll probably mature into a consistently top 10 driver though.

The Tom Brady argument falls flat too because Brady was an average-good QB at Michigan who performed immediately with the Patriots. If anything, Jimmie Johnson is the Tom Brady of NASCAR. Rick Hendrick is the Bill Belichick of that scenario, he took a chance on a relatively unheralded driver and it paid huge dividends.

Larson obviously has talent, he's shown pace often before. He hasn't even run five full seasons in stock cars so being a little rough around the edges isn't that unusual. If it takes him a little while to really refine his abilities it'll be worth it.

Don't bother with DaBiff, he's just mad that he jumped on the Larson bandwagon, said he was going to win and win a good amount already. Since Larson hasn't, DaBiff is angry and went the complete opposite way and now just bashes him.

Larson may not be the next superstar driver, but to fault for not winning a CGR stuff is so ******** funny. As if this 23 year old, who isn't Jeff Gordon was supposed to come in and make subpar equipment into superstar results. lol.

The last win for CGR was 3 seasons ago from McMurray as Charlotte. More ridiculously, the last time his second team won, the 42 team, was 7 seasons ago with JPM at Watkins Glen. It's silly. Larson is hardly a shoe in to move to Hendrick. But he has the talent to compete for Championships if he were to get the opportunity in top tier equipment. I mean if you gave Larson the same rides HMS has given Chase this year, there is no doubt in my mind Larson wins at least one.

You're right, I quit being a fanboy and got tired of making excuses for him. You can be a fan and not make excuses when your guy is struggling. As for Gannassi not having winning cars, that 42 has been pretty damn fast speed wise this past month, and it was in all of 2014.

Could be that I missed it but has anyone of any importance to the Kahne effort publicly expressed concern over the performance of the #5?

Anyone of importance that thinks he is running fine should not be of importance.

Seems to be a lot of noise from sources that don't matter, Rev.

Anyway.....

Perhaps Hendrick will feel the need for a stronger Ganassi – with Sebates – team next season and get off a little more useful information for his new, #1 dependent.

They'll be looking at three more competitive Fords in the 4, 15 and 41 next season. Having Larson in better stuff and keeping Kahne where he is might help the resistance.

What? You mean the 10's not competitive?

I'm shocked, shocked I say!

You'll get over it by next season's All Star thing.

Theres always hope billy and DP will hit on a magic combo...like how much she is communicating with her CC and like what shes saying its very descriptive...I hope she gets better, and have hope

I am a Larson fan. And I didn't make excuses for him when he choked the All-Star race away.

In fact, I was the first one to comment on this situation in the Race thread:

Larson's fatal flaw. Dude cannot keep the damn car off the wall.

http://racing-forums.com/threads/all-star-race-thread.53208/page-10#post-945010

And

The announcers said Larson must be saying "what do I have to do to win one of these things?" It's simple. Stop walling yourself. I know it's irrelevant here in this race because it's win or bust.

But in normal races, it seems like most of the time he is running good he gets loose and walls it. That needs to stop if he ever wants to live up to his potential.

And I like the dude. But man, it's frustrating to see him in the wall every week.

But, there is nothing worse than being a hypocritical flip flopper.

Wow I wasn't aware we weren't allowed to change our minds. When he first came into the scene I did think he was the next Gordon or Jimmie, after watching him for a few years I realized I was being a homer and was wrong. I straight up admitted that, doesn't mean I'm not a fan of him though. I always will if he sucks or becomes champ

I seriously believe Logano was bullied at JGR..... specifically by Hamlin.

Maybe, next is going to sure be interesting , watching to see how SHR deals with switching to Ford, and to see if CGR gets an increase is support from HMS.
