I think the point was that she didn't qualify with the current rules in place. That$ the funny part. The sport, collided with the "$how". The $how will win every time.
Sooo funny that when Danica gets voted in by a MAJORITY of Nascar fan votes , a tiny minority will bitch that she has no business being there . What a great country.
I don't know how you feel but it's got to be pretty demoralizing for an athlete like Danica that NASCAR went and changed the rules because they don't think she's talented enough to finish on the lead lap in a 40 lap race.

Ah , the curse of being old . I think that practice actually started when Dale Sr . didn't make a Clash one year because he had no poles . Horrors , couldn't have that . Too bad you can't ask him how he felt.
Anyone heard of the Danica rule? It's here....

I just seen this too. Kind of ridiculous. You want to be in the All Star race, win a race or the showdown, forget this fan vote and "Danica" rule. Not as ridiculous as the no pit road speed in qualifying though. That's just insanity to me.
My favorite all-star race memory has to be Kyle Busch and Gordon fighting for the lead and out of nowhere Newman turned on the after burners and got 3 wide with Kyle and Gordon.
They were able to hold on for a little bit then of course one of them lost it and that was that. Still one of the coolest racing segments I remember at Charlotte.
"Patrick has finished on the lead lap in only two of 11 races this season."
That's pitiful for someone in the caliber of equipment she's in.
Sorry , I thought we were talking about new rules , but we're just bashing women again . My bad .Earnhardt was a seven time series champion. Danica's just a cash-cow.
$1 million ta winner. bonus $1 mill ta win all 5.
biffle's got it right. " balls ta tha wall" .......an not all will make it.
lookin forward ta race .
Bold prediction..Monday ,someone will complain that they weren't trying to win.
Just makes the All-Star race more of a farce than it already is. This is the one NASCAR weekend out of the year when I take a pass and leave the TV off. Maybe I'll do something productive Saturday nightBecause this isn't blatantly obvious.
Very true. Infact he was on Race Hub last night and he said that they had thought about not running this weekend, but after they won Talladega they decided to take their Coke 600 car and run it and pick up some data for the 600. He said they would like a top ten finish.Seeing that YOU brought it up, Ragan can't afford to wreck a car but that prize money would mean a lot to an underfunded team.
Anyone think there is a possibility that someone could accomplish that?

How exciting it is depends a lot on the format. Last year all you had to do was win one segment and you could pussyfoot around in the back the rest of the race since you were guaranteed a Top 4 spot going into the pits before the final segment. The average finish should make it a lot more competitive now I think. As for the race, I'm still a fan even after last year. Last year was one of the more boring and quietest All-Star races I've seen.
I also noticed on ESPN that another $1 million will be offered if a driver can win all five segments. Anyone think there is a possibility that someone could accomplish that?

He'll be there just like everyone else will be. Heck, there should be no misunderstanding as to what this thread is about yet they still read/post. Nobody's fooling anyone on here.Don't like it? Don't watch. No one cares.

I'm sure you remember this car.
yesNobody over the wall until the car stops. I actually like this change because it will take skill to do it right.
I probably still won't find a t*rd as big as this race is going to beI'm pretty sure that my cat's litter box needs cleaning . . .
