Sprint Cup - Coca-Cola 600 Race

Crap. I hope not. I hope it isn't long green flag runs and a fuel deal in the end. I'd rather see side-by-side beating and banging, lead swaps, etc.

I agree. But I won't be surprised if we see a 250 lap green flag run dominated by the 48 where he puts all but the top 10 a lap down.

Chad and Jimmie, unfortunately are always a threat. I want to see many lead changes, side-by-side battles, people over-driving and getting into the fence, a no-bullsh!t-fuel-mileage race. I want to be out of breath at the end of this thing. I want to see a battle, not a runaway. I want to see a photo finish, not a win by the guy that led the most laps.

Do you enjoy being disappointed?

OK folks, I won't be able to watch the race tonight, so I'm counting on y'all for an entertaining race thread. :salute:

I want that every week. Hopefully they go crazy tonight and we see something cool. The All Star event was supposed to be like that but it turned out to be awful.

I didn't think it was bad, The Brad and KK race in segment 3 was awesome, I think Brad would of had something for Jimmie if he had more laps.

That caution in the final segment, also ruined things, it let the segment winners pretty much pull in an out of the pits on the final mandatory stop. They should close pit road for the entire 4th segment and make that stop in between seg 4 and the 10 lap shootout, a mandatory 4 tire stop, or get rid of it being mandatory at all, if guys like Kurt could of stayed out, they would of and their strategy might of worked.

If the 600 is only half as good as the Indy 500 was, we will new in for a good race.

Yep - that was a fun 500...best one I remember in a while (thanks to Hildebrand's stupid 4th turn last year - buzzkill). I actually watched the whole race!

Let's hope the Charlotte marathon is reasonably entertaining. Advice to NASCAR - use the Indy restart rules - get em in line and then just let everybody do whatever they want a quarter mile from the green flag :salute:. Those five-wide "fruit basket" restarts were cool!

I'm amazed they got through them without having 8 cars in the wall on the first turn.

Yeah I guess not passing before the line is a Nascar only rule.

Any bets one who detonates an engine first? I'm saying Hamlin but it would really help my Fantasy Racing Group if it's Johnson.

It's good that we have choices.
Sadly, I think the Indy 500 will prove to be more exciting than the 600. Aero push has ruined the racing at Charlotte.:(
I think you are right, I have a feeling it will be pretty much like the NW race. There has been an aero push problem for a long time now yet Nascar doesn't get rid of the splitter. I'd rather see these cars going 10-15mph slower and be able to pass in side by side racing, take some of the downforce off them. Well, here is to good racing tonight anyway, still looking forward to it. Hopefully I stay awake for all the race.:D

Biffle and Bowyer bangin sheet metal accross the line on lap 1., Chad will be telling Jimmy to lay back for the first half.

I was going back and forth between those two  Yeah, I don't see Johnson pushing it at the start of the race unless he gets an opening and feels he can check out.
