The Southern 500 This is one of the ones i look forward to Every year! Great track and Great racing!

Aero push has been bad since the re-pave. Hopefully the tires fall off more than last year so we don't have another race completely dependent on track position.

Anyone care to weigh in on how they think Miss Thang will fare in her first CUP race at Darlington? One can bet the farm that she will be one of the main stories for our friends at FOX.

My expectations are pretty low - no better than a 25th place finish. But I am hoping that she learns enough during Friday's N'wide race to help her out on Saturday and exceed my expectations. It's gonna be a tough weekend for her!

I love real racing.....that is why I think so little of NASCAR as it is today.

Don't stop now.
This reminds me of the people that call into SiriusXM NASCAR Radio detailing the previous weeks race and how they don't like and or watch racing anymore because of one thing or another yet somehow they still find time to call in to a NASCAR Radio show or post to a NASCAR forum. o_O

Call in shows seem to attract some very odd people on the other end of the line.

last weeks race...no no much longer than last week or last year.....I record the races on Tivo, skip the commercial telethons and watch the short races shown.....my comments may remind you of some radio show , but it is irrelevant to me...what is important is how it reminds me how much better racing was before it was infested with the current directors of NASCAR.....if my comments upset you...so be it, they will remain as I decide....feel free to do the same.

I can't do the same. My DVR broke last week. But you're absolutely right. Commercials suck big time.

It's not so much that the commercials suck - it's just the outrageous quantity of them shown during a race telecast that pisses me off!

Then again, most of the commercials are pretty sucky...

I agree. The Francers are so damn greedy it ruins what the little racing we get.

I gotta give you credit DanicaFan. You really get on the ball with these threads lol

As far as Danica goes, she should just worry about finishing all the laps. Doesn't matter how many laps down or where she is as long as they load it in the hauler in one piece.

Hey, you speak the truth. You want some plane tickets to the East coast so we can meet?

The France Family has nothing to do with the number of commercials shown during the telecast of a race. There are probably some provisions for the broadcaster to include a certain number of NASCAR promos but other than that, it's out of NASCAR's hands.

The Networks pay NASCAR a set amount for the broadcast rights and then they sell advertisements in an effort to turn a profit.

It's easy to blame The Family for a lot of things but this ain't one of them.
