Sprint Cup Race - Darlington

Miss Thang will have an entire Nationwide Race under her belt by the time the green flag falls on the CUP Race - not that it will help much...

Then you should avoid me, for you see, I know the difference in NASCAR today and when it was real.....It is mine as much as it is yours...I shall not be influenced by your opinion, ...do not be influenced by mine...I sure will try to influence the ones that matter, NASCAR themselves as I will remain determined to not accept less than real racing.......you do as you desire...it matters not to me.....

Would it be gay of me to say that I love this person since I don't know the gender of this person?
Cause I effen LOVE this person!!

...for you see, I know the difference in NASCAR today and when it was real.....It is mine as much as it is yours.....

OUT-FREAKING-STANDING!!

Yes Matthew.....I could improve NASCAR...but that is saying very little......a tree stump could be an improvement over the ones now in charge....in my humble opinion....

Your schtick is amusing but it is unlikely to be sustainable. The first rule of a good message board schtick is to not paint yourself into a corner. Originality is also paramount. While the cadence of your prose is unique for this board many will quickly grow weary of it and you'll stop garnering the attention that a schtick needs to maintain it's momentum. But I do give you credit for attempting to embark on such an endeavor on a NASCAR section of a racing fan forum.

Most of us on the board acknowledge that Nascar is and has always been a dictatorship. A successful one at that . Much the same as most every successful company . The participants (drivers ,owners , crews) can decide for themselves whether they choose to participate . We don't have a dog in that fight. We just watch .

C'mon, Matt! Humor him/her. The boastful nature of the initial posts have left me wanting MORE!! ;)

Okay.
Maybe one of the moderators can help me out ......... so how do you work the ignore feature again?

I love it. Some guy who says he doesn't like NASCAR racing anymore, still watches NASCAR racing.

And, he hates it so much now, that he loves to type till his/her heart is content.

Any takers for some good old IRONY anybody?

Pretty cool Hamlin will be running a paint job honoring The Best Driver EVER at Darlington Cale Yarborough!!!

Hamlin honoring Yarborough at Darlington: Adding to the history surrounding the #11 team this weekend at Darlington Raceway, Denny Hamlin will take it a step further as he steps out in a retro firesuit and pilots a retro Sport Clips Toyota. The special Sport Clips Toyota retro paint scheme will honor Cale Yarborough and his induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Of the 199 wins for the #11 car, Yarborough leads all drivers with 55 of those wins. Hamlin has earned 19 wins in the #11 car.(JGR), see an image of the car on the #11 team paint schemes page.(5-9-2012)

lol Very nice segway there. Now we can talk about plumbing. :D

For some reason, I have this thought that you're sitting at your computer, barely clothed and with a 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk singing "Little Plumber Boy", but hope like hell that I'm wrong.

Like Dover, Darlington knows what the fans like. The drivers? Well, not so much.

Darlington Fans Flames of Busch/Harvick Feud

Darlington Raceway is promoting Saturday night’s Bojangle’s Southern 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race as “Round 2” of the ongoing feud between Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, and neither driver is particularly happy about it.

Harvick and Busch clashed – both on and off the race track – at Darlington a year ago, culminating in a pit road skirmish that saw Harvick attempt to punch Busch through the window of his No. 18 M&Ms Toyota on pit road after the race. Busch accelerated away from Harvick, hitting his unoccupied Budweiser Chevrolet and pushing it into the pit wall.

Both drivers were fined $25,000 and placed on probation by NASCAR for their actions, and continued to express unhappiness with each other through the balance of the 2011 season.

Now, however, the rivals say they disapprove of a Darlington promotional campaign that features Harvick glowering at a celebrating, boxing-glove equipped Busch above the warning, "Don't Miss Round 2" of the battle between "Hitman" Harvick and "Rowdy" Busch.

The campaign – which includes highway billboards throughout the region, radio and internet ads – has been called “dumb” and “pretty stupid" by Busch, with Harvick saying the manufactured drama makes it tougher to do his job, adding, “It’s just easier not to be involved.” Darlington Raceway President Chris Browning said he approached both drivers to take part in a “Round 2” promotion for this weekend’s race, but was politely rebuffed.

For their record, the two have raced trouble-free this season, and even drafted together last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway without incident.

Of course the track would do this, since they are the race promotors. It just adds a little fun and excitement, even though nothing will happen. Unless, one guy gets loose...

Those 2 can say it's dumb all they want, but when drivers who hate each other race in close quarters, things can get nasty real fast.

It was a year ago, which is a long time in racing. What the heck is wrong with these promoters? He's got a track that is steep in NASCAR history. Plenty of good racing, the Darlington stripe, the closest finish in NASCAR history, and this idiot is trying to promote in incident after the race on pit road? Makes since to me!

It's harder to get people to spend their money these days. If they want to show up for that, so be it. Most will show for the racing, no matter how it's promoted.

Craven/Busch would be a good promo IMO.
