Stewart Hass may be selling 2 Charters

Today on SiriusXM Jordan Bianchi says as many as two Stewart-Haas charters could be for sale, more...

He also said that it's almost certain Aric Almirola retires and that Smithfield is not staying on with a new driver. The lack of sponsors is the main reason charters could be up for grabs but also said they could demand $40M-$50M each.

This was discussed in the silly season thread. But I think this deserves its own topic. It will be interesting to see if this is true and how ponies up to buy them. We know Josh Berry will be in the #4. Who will be in the second car?

If Dale Jr. wants to get into Cup, here is his chance.

So, this is starting to make sense. SHR is shrinking.....Ford goes after 23XI. Denny in a bargaining positive position IMO. I need to go take my ulcer medication. **** me.

I have to assume they keep Briscoe in that situation. He has more upside than Preece and the #14 actually has sponsors.

Makes sense. Also if you are worried charters go away after 2024, then you got back $80-100 million on an asset that would then be worth $0 in 16 months time.

As a Stewart fan who likes to root for SHR, this kind of sucks. But if it'll help improve the performance of their cars, I can't complain. I still hope these are just rumors, we'll see how all of this plays out.

With the kit car and technical alliances you really lose a lot of advantages you used to have with a 4 car team. I can definitely see them getting rid of 1, but 2 seems less likely to me.

It’s a sellers market even with the uncertainty of the charter systems future. I imagine SHR getting heavy interest from 23XI and Trackhouse. Maybe even RFK will sneak in and surprise us all. Sometimes the back room business dealings of this sport are just as interesting as the racing.

Indeed, this makes all the chatter over Hambone and his positioning crystallized.

I really hope that doesn't happen. Toyota dropping to what 4 cars would be horrible. IMO there hasn't been a better time for Dodge to enter, especially on the Truck side

It’ll be at least six either way with Legacy joining.

Though I’d be disappointed that they’d still have a relatively small car count and I liked what TRD and 23XI have been building together. Really felt like they were possibly in position to be the future of TRD given the uncertainty of JGR after Joe.

Dodge isn't coming back to NASCAR. What would they have to offer? The Charger and Challenger are going away and will be replaced by EVs.

Maybe not cup but we have dodge in the Nascar Pintys series

The latter of these is never gonna happen.
And NASCAR was never going to run at Indianapolis or a street course either. Or fuel injection, or power steering, or one lug nut, or...

If the manufacturers want to run EVs, NASCAR will find a series for them.

People need to make peace with it because it’s gonna happen.

Peoples that are worried about EVs and grieving about the losing the roar of the V8s jus haint took the time to study over getting to hear EVERY WORD.AND POINT THAT JEFF BURTON IS MAKING ABOUT EVERY POINT MATTTERING DURING THE RACES

JUST TAKE A GERBITOL PILL AND CHILL OUT.

I don't think the electric NASCAR Series that has been discussed will never come but the Cup Series running 100% battery-electric cars? No way, no one wants to see that and NASCAR knows that.
Hydrogen. Keep the V8's, sounds the same, HP is the same. Almost 0 polution
They're introducing a Hydrogen class in Le Mans in a few years. Several other championships are introducing or have already introduced synthetic or biological fuels and I actually would like to see NASCAR do the same. It could also be helpful for the development of synthetic fuels for road cars.

This is a bit long, but it's an educating type clip. LS V8 Chevy motor, very similar to a cup motor.

F'n thread twisters got this thing in la la land.
Welp to get back on topic in Jeff Burton voice (read each sentence as one word).

Rick Allen’s call of the first electric race will be great.

“She enters the backstretch … her car is powered by electric … they plugged it into the wall … cars used to run on gas … now they run on electricity … she’s from California … the state that banned gas powered cars … 50 million people across California are celebrating as Hailie Deegan wins the first race in the NASCAR Amazon Electric Series!”

IF this happens, this will be the greatest setback for Toyota since WE came into the sport. TRD creates specific goals, and achieves them. David has said that this generation of car necessitates increased car counts. That was the goal. If it doesn't happen, this is a HUGE setback. HUGE.....and puts us behind for the foreseeable future. I think that 23XI was positioning itself to take over the flagship team from JGR....MJ as part of the Toyota family was pretty cool too. This is a pivotal point in Toyota's involvement in this sport.....and if you think Denny isn't aware of that, you haven't been paying attention.

I feel a bit better....not a lock yet.
