Talladega Race Thread

Flood Warning in Talladega.

I'm shocked NASCAR's keeping this circus going. But hey they have Air Titan to save us, right?

I, for one, am glad FOX has that option nowdays. Remember back in the day on CBS the race would restart late in the day but CBS had to move on to regular scheduled programming and not show us the finish?
Now that sucked.

That still happens from time to time. It's called ESPN.

I want to see "Redneck Survivorman"...like three rednecks marooned on an uncharted island after their fishing boat sinks. They check their pockets - Jim Bob has some fishing hooks and Carl has a few stems and seeds left from the night before (although the bong is lost at sea). Harley notices that there are some native grain grasses growing on the island and an old metal boat hull that could be fashioned into a still.

Two years later they see a Coast Guard helicopter pass over and yell - HIDE !!!!

They just move the race to one of their sister stations, which is fine unless you're dvring the race.
Back then, you had to wait until Sportcenter came on for results cause CBS had no alternate channel to go to.

So how fast is this new system supposed to dry the track? I dont think I can take much more of mikey talking.

He says what every other driver is thinking. Race or get the hell out of there.

Yeah...he is just being realistic - take the decent finishing spot and move on. But he's not looking at the big pitcure.

I love it when capitalism occasionally works in my favor B)

anybody remember the busch cars running on rain tires at a road track in canada i think? it was a wreck fest.

There's a whole lot of "Darrell Waltrip" in this feuds package. Couldn't possibly be because of that mouth of his could it?

Good ole Dale Earnhardt :XXROFL: I sure miss that man!

Are u guys still seeing race coverage on fox? Here in toronto they are showing old reruns of 2 and a half men:eek:

I saw that, sure brings back alot of great memories, and reminds me of why I thought so much of him.

Earnhardt didn't give a **** and NASCAR didn't have the balls to fine him for spreading gospel. He would've told them where to shove it. :D

Now I'm no expert - and if it does start raining again it's over...but...if they do have new track dryers which headline would they prefer in the papers tomorrow?

"Nascar cancels race despite attempts at improving track drying technology" - or -

"Nascar improvements in track drying technology gives fans a great finish at Talladega"

Keselowski was lucky he didn't get hurt in that atlanta crash the way the car was bent on the roof.

In case you're wondering, pretty sure it wasn't snowing here in Phoenix back in '79 during the 500.

That's it. Put DW back in the car. Less talking.....just as much crazy.

Where's it being broudcasted now?

Yeah, what the heck, I go to the bathroom and come back and local news is on and talking about some horses? Only horses I care about are the 1000 under the hood of a Cup car!
