Talladega Race Thread

I loved how he could wreck a guy and not make it look intentional. Hell, he'd wreck someone and everyone (including the other driver) would think it was THEIR fault. :D
Then find them after the race and get them in that friendly headlock and quietly tell them don't ever mess with me again, the whole time with that little kid grin.

Another hour damn :(

Well - it's 5:04 in Talladega Alabama - so another hour makes it 6. Then an hour + to finish the race.

My guess is they will cut the laps a bit - maybe the Aaron's 469.

You can be sure that Fox programming folks have been working hard these last few hours..."What do we have on in that market...what are the average ratings?...we can give you +15% over that - call your advertisers."

It's amazing... Earnhardt would be right behind someone and they'd just move up the track and let him by. :D

Note: If Nascar gets this race in - and after all they did yesterday to get a competitve finish - we should applaud them.
Even if they don't get this race in, it wouldn't be from a lack of trying and they should be applauded. But, some would rather complain and make fun of them. It's just the nature of the beast.

Here on the west coast they are still showing it. Track drying looking good and they say about another hour.
From what I saw yesterday they probably have 3 more hours of daylight left. 63 laps remain and at about a minute a lap there is still plenty of time throwing in a few cautions.
I give Nascar credit for keeping their promise and attempting to get this whole thing in.

Amazing how Roanoke stations can stay with NASCAR through a rain delay but can't air special reports or the evening news during an attack on America.

Since nothing else is going on..... here is a guy trying to do a back flip.

Would be nice if Speed was simulcasting the Fox coverage that those of us are missing who live in areas where the local affiliates went to 5 o'clock news, but... c'est la vie.

Now some of y'all know how I felt when WJLA cut out of the Richmond race last year to air the evening news and not only didn't return when the actual race resumed but extended their newscast beyond it's usual 30 minute window.

But I'm just a complainer, right?

We are still getting it. They said that when it restarts Fox will start broadcasting it again.

My FOX station said they should be back to racing shortly after 7. No idea how accurate that is, though.

You were right to complain about that.
I know some people who live south of Nashville that had the same problem with whatever local network it was on.
People complained so loud that everytime it has happened since then the network shows a picture in picture during the news with the race.
