Talladega - The return of the two car draft?

What the heck constitutes a competitive pass a pass is a pass.

A competitive pass is where someone catches someone(without someone pushing him) and passes them. The passes at Dega are all about having someone have to push you or else you're SOL. Have you not noticed that at other tracks(non plate) they actually race for the lead and at Dega and Daytona they don't care if they get passed unless it's the last lap?

A competitve pass is one where two cars are actually racing, and the guy following passes the guy in front. What they do at Taladega and Daytona are nothing more that pre-arranged swaps.

Off that logic there hasn't been a competitive pass there in 15 years

Are you guys stating that NASCAR made some change with the intention of creating the 2-car draft deal? I don't think so. Some change may have been made that allowed the teams to do it. NASCAR didn't do it. The teams found out a way to go faster. Just like they do by doing everything else they do every other week.

With that said, the phenomenon that allows thie 2-car draft to occur is VERY similar to what was going on back in the day when cars would "slingshot" past the car in front of them. The difference is that instead of driving by, they are running into the back of the car in front of them and getting a longer term speed boost.

I still do not understand all the *****ing though. Everyone seems to ***** about the racing at all of the cookie cutter tracks and when some new form of racing occurs, more *****ing. I suppose people just like to *****.

I ***** because this isn't racing, just ask Jr., he will tell you that the 2 car tandem stuff is crap.

Only because Jr. cant win unless everyone is in a pack :D

Thats why he won the 04' 500 racing with Tony stewart, with the next nearest competitor coming off of turn 4. Big pack that day, wasn't it?
