The 600 RACE thread ---

Not a bad race. Jimmie definitely deserved this one. If Harvick had a GWC or 20 more laps things could've gotten interesting between him and JJ.

Tony winds up 13th. Continuing the steady but quiet trend he's had this year.

Fastest car won tonight. Not my guy, but how can it be bad when the fastest guy wins?
Wasn't the best race from a fan perspective, beats the ****t out of watching golf. :beerbang:

Was he sick as well? Thought I heard earlier he was throwing up in the racecar.
No no no. That was several years ago with Ray where he won at Darlington with heat sickness & the flu

Exactly. I know the cool thing for a few minions is to rip on Harvick - but he said nothing wrong and was 100% accurate in his statement.
The CCs and the rest of the crew don't get on TV and gripe about how ****** their drivers are when they crash. Win as a team, lose as a team...either that, or inconspicuously swap crews in the middle of the race. Whatever works.

Harvick may be trying to open their eyes and save some of the crew guys from losing their jobs. Because they are definitely the weak link in the chain right now. The car is running awesome and Kevin is driving his arse off but they just keep making serious mistakes on pit road. The problem has to be fixed eventually.

This is true and the audio is real time, from a pissed off, hyped driver that never shows up to run second. It's frustrating when you do your job well but you still come up short because someone else didn't do their job well.

guinness book of records broken when j.johnson took the checkered flag for a single word said at the same time....word rhymes with luck.

I agree. But, he just calmly stated the truth. He didn't freak out or anything.

he handled it better than last week....i bet in the hauler he went off.

Considering we went a third of the way through the season without him winning, and the fact that it wasn't luck or strategy that gave him the win, I did not feel the searing rage that travels through my body, soul, and mind that normally happens when soon-to-be 28-time wins.

And the guys on the other end of the headset knew he was right. Time for them to step up. This Series is so competitive that your entire team must damn near be perfect on raceday or you will get beat by a team that is perfect-er.

that is the team to beat, and everyone knew it's only a matter of time, i was just hoping it would take much longer and start to mess with his head a little.

Duck? Isn't he running for town clerk of mooresville or something like that?

Really, Harvick's reaction today, Kyle and Kurt's tantrums, Tony throwing the helmet at Matt, Mears getting socked in the eye, etc.; this is why we tune in week after week, no matter how hard Brian tries to destroy our sport. We watch because we understand and appreciate the passion. This is our sport. We pay the bills. Our guy isn't always the fastest but we'll watch and cheer him on no matter what. Life is good.
(Then some #$@%^&* like me will come along and bag on your driver.)
:D

I love listening to these dinks on Fox Sports 1 try to talk about racing

Ok internet tough guy, they've cost him several wins this year he has every right to be pissed

Worst race of the year, as usual for the 600, amplified by the fact that Jimmie won.

I know this is going to bring all the 88 haters out but what happened to Jr's car? I have seen several articles that said he had engine problems. Looking at the lap-by-lap, ran in the top 5-7 most of the race.
Now, since we know it was just caused by the fact that Jr doesn't belong on the track, dad's coattails, etc.
Seriously, does anyone know happened?
Hendrick said it was a vibration caused by a brake problem or articles say it as engine trouble.

I get a kick out of all the complainers, whining about The Harv for pointing out a loose wheel cost him a shot at another win.

Tight has little to do with getting your doors blown off on the straight away, and she was getting passed like she was sitting still just after a few laps into the race. Tight effects the corner speed and engine power effects the straight away speed.

Sorry but you're wrong. If you're slow through the turn it kills your speed in the straights.

If it was engine issues that made her fall back so early, don't you think she would have known and said something?

good comment--my feeling is the engine was headed south in those early laps but the handling condition muddied the issue....kinda like when you have a strut mount gone but there is something in the trunk thumping around and it masks it.

To me it seemed like she had the qualifying set-up in the car as fast as she was at the very beginning, then quickly fell off.

There's no shame in handling issues making her fall back. It's happened to every driver out there.
I would think if her engine started going down she would have known it.
Another thing is that when a driver has an engine that is going down, it's usually fast in the turns because it's running at reduced HP and the driver can almost floor it in the turns.

Pretty sure she wasn't having engine issuers until much later in the race.
