Ticks me off that a 24 case of Budweiser in South Carolina is half the price that it is up here in Canada............ Sumpin ain't right about that.......

I was pleasantly surprised when I went tot the grocery store yesterday, and they had a variety pack of Sierra Nevada, which had their pale ale, their porter, their IPA, and their chocolate stout. Win win!

Remember your first beer?

I was reading an article, last night, about fathers and sons and memories came flooding back of the time I took my son out for his first beer.
Off we went to our local pub, which is only two blocks from the house. I got him a Budweiser. He didn't like it...so I drank it.

Then I got him a Bud Light, he didn't like it... so I drank it.

It was the same with the Miller and Miller Light.

By the time we got down to the Pabst Blue Ribbon I could hardly push the stroller back home.

I used to drink just about anything but Bud. IMO the stuff taste like $hiT. It's one of the few beers, or only, that uses RICE as an ingredient :bleh:

I grew up in Arkansas.... Arkansas is a big rice producing state. So.... I gotta' support the agriculture of the state. LOL.... Longneck Bud is ALL I drink.
And.... let me tell you... I'm a big supporter!!!!! :) Without me, the stock would nosedive!!!!!

I tried that Bud Light, only good for rinsing the white hockey pucks in the urinal..

I'm enjoying a Grain Belt Nordeast; it is an amber lager, it is darker than most lagers and has good flavor (Nordeast is an old neighborhood in NE Minneapolis and the way an old Scandinavian would pronounce northeast).

Give me a cold Bud in a cold glass anytime. If ya do not have that then Coors Light.

I did not like Bud either until I went to Sea World in Orlando and went to the Beer school put on there by Bud. Learned a lot. Found out I had never had a Bud served correctly at the right temp and age.
My experience with Bud was in high school and 99% of the time it was hot then chilled then get hot again and then chill again and it tasted like crap, so I quit drinking Bud.

As far as the current myriad of Yuppy beers, I am not into that. But I will say the industry has come a long way in promoting beer consumption to the 20 and 30 something's age groups, via variety and BS to compete nicely with the Wine bunch.

We went through beer school at Busch Gardens- Tampa and like you we learned a lot and I enjoy BL even more.

Beer School  Maybe that was my problem, I never went to beer school :XXROFL:
Your loss. It was a lot of fun and informative. Some of us like to learn new things, even us septuagenarians. Besides there was free beer.

No, I was just jokin'. We had a Busch Gardens out here in So Cal too

Debate over different beer brands is like debating a woman's bust size. Men may state their preferences, but will grab whatever is available.

You do know what fish do in water don't you?
Another thing, replaced our 11 year old water heater recently, for grins my son used a 3 inch hole saw and looked inside. You'd be amazed, we thought our water was clean!

Currently drinking Leinenkugel's Big Butt Doppelbock. Stupid name, but great beer. I think of tried at least a dozen different flavors of Leinenkugel's and the only one I never cared for was the Orange Shandy. My favorites are Old Fashioned Shandy and Snowdrift Vanilla Porter.

Had a cold Bottle of Bud that I pored into in a cold glass last night in Savannah Ga., aaahh, good stuff.
I just had about 6 bottles of cold Bud...... no glass.... and It don't get no better than that other than a couple more... which will more than likely happen...

On Friday night, I got a six-pack of PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) to see what all the hype was about. The stuff is cheap, about $4 for that six-pack, and not terrible tasting (not very good either). Anyways, I had three cans of the stuff. It's now Monday morning and I am still hungover. Never got a buzz either. Amazing I can put down a 12-pack of any other beer and feel fine the next morning. Don't know what kind of poison this stuff has in it, but, never again.

The only other beer that makes me physically sick is Bud Light, but I get sick upon consumption and don't feel it the next morning.
