The Darlington race thread.

Watched the race from the press box here at South Boston Speedway. Matt's son won the PASS South race here earlier. Good Night to be a Kenseth.

A cut right tire caused Kyle the race, but he still did an awesome job all weekend.

Well it will be consistent with JGR's past chase appearances.

And Kenseth's. He has never had a strong Chase. He won his title under the old system by accumulating points early on in the season with great finishes - like he is doing now.

I expect it to come down to Johnson, Keselowski, and Edwards. I would usually list Stewart as a contender because of his past Chase performances, but he seems to be having an off year.

I'll take a 3rd... Not far out of 6th place in points..

I called that 300th top five ;)

Damn it.

Great day for JGR though. pretty tepid race til the last 100.. Not trying to sound naive but I always find it funny when the drivers say they're way too loose when they're running in the top five. I understand wanting to have a perfect car but if it's that bad, you'd be losing spots.

What crack are you smoking? Kenseth won two races in the Chase last year.

Denny has had some decent Chase runs, Tony Stewart (although it's been 8 years ago) won a title in the Chase era with JGR, and Joey, well..... :) Kyle is really the only Gibbs guy who collapses in the Chase year in and year out. I think Matt will be OK come Chase time.

Agreed. What he said!!

Sounds like Kasey wasn't too happy with Kyle.
No kidding, I thought so too.
Kahne expects another apology from Busch: #5-Kasey Kahne anticipates another phone call and apology from #18-Kyle Busch after an incident between them cost Kahne a chance to win Saturday night's Bojangles' Southern 500. It's the third time this season - and second race in a row - that Busch has caused Kahne to wreck. "I don't know what his deal is with me,'' Kahne said after finishing 17th. Kahne and Busch dueled for the lead 34 laps from the finish Saturday. Kahne edged by Busch in Turn 3, Busch moved ahead off Turn 4. They headed to turn 1 side by side. "He blew that entry into (Turn) 1,'' Kahne said. Busch went low into turn 1 but slid up the track. "I was like, "Oh shoot, oh shoot,' '' Kahne said. "The car moved and then just spun out. I don't know if he actually touched me or not. If he would have just entered normal like he entered the whole race there would have been no issues and I would have been leading off 2. He just didn't want that to happen, so he blew turn 1. Whether he hit me or not, he still caused that whole deal with screwing up and just mind fade. He's had a few of them this year when I've been around him."(Motor Racing Networ

Kasey is overreacting as is normal for guys after the race.. they both were driving it in really hard because they both knew that whoever took the lead would have likely won the race. I'm starting to get really tired of guys whining like they're in a indycar and can't be touched... Last night with Kahne and Busch is what Nascar is all about... Going for the win.

Kahne passed him clean and Bush bonsai'd (get the pun) the turn. Even with that, Kahne still moved up one position in the points race, but it should have been more. Bush league move
