So what odds are you handing out with all that confidence ?
Not a gambler ..... a Toyota has pretty much wrapped it up .... as well as winning the real championship earlier this year

Its hard to argue with this. Not a gambler ..... a Toyota has pretty much wrapped it up .... as well as winning the real championship earlier this year
He has certainly eared it this year, I hope he does win it, he would be the legit 2017 champ IMOMartin makes a fine champion IMO

Martin makes a fine champion IMO
The next three tracks up, Blaney has scored stage points in 6 out of 9 stages from the last time they ran these tracks. He won two stages at Texas. I kinda like his chances.
High praise from someone who knows what he's talking about!Pretty cool article here
DAVID PEARSON-LIKE DRIVE AT KANSAS EARNS BLANEY A BERTH IN THE ROUND OF EIGHT
Team co-owner Eddie Wood had great praise for the entire Omnicraft Auto Parts team and was especially impressed by Blaney’s poise under the pressure that comes with a cut-off race in the playoffs.
Wood said Blaney made smart decisions driving his way to the front, something only the greatest of drivers seem to know how to do.
“That was a David Pearson run right there,” Wood said. “Ryan knew what he had to do. He raced hard, but he was mindful of what was going on around him. He missed the wrecks. It was just a tremendous effort.”
Wood also complimented crew chief Jeremy Bullins on his race strategy throughout the day, including one call to leave Blaney on the track near the end of Stage Two, a call that led to three important bonus points.

High praise from someone who knows what he's talking about!
I agree....he is a VERY nice person, and one hell of a racer. HOWEVER, this week's Homestead test is crucial for him. He hasn't been great there, but that guy in the M&M's car is pretty good at that track. The way this Championship is structured will require Martin to exceed expectations on the sport's biggest stage--very possible with Cole Learn. Not a bad thing IMO.....Gonna be great. Additionally, JJ taught us that it is entirely possible that somebody like Delana's wife could reach up and steal all of it. Regardless, I am in absolute bliss that MY TRD friends have given their teams the tools to have the targets on their backs. Honestly, this is what I have dreamed of since Toyota entered. Already a win for Revman!
they can't do that I don't think, they reset the points again, so I believe he has to win the last one. Just like Kenseth did back in the day. Won the cup with one win. Blaney wouldn't be bad either, it would be two wins for him. ha ha. emphasis on winning and all.I hope Chase Elliott wins the title finishing 2nd at Homestead. Just to give a big middle finger to NASCAR. If that can't happen, Blaney please.
Nope, the top 4 race straight up. Playoff points are thrown out.they can't do that I don't think, they reset the points again, so I believe he has to win the last one. Precisely, best finishing position wins the cup.Nope, the top 4 race straight up. Playoff points are thrown out.
you said finishing 2nd at homestead the first time..never mind.Nope, the top 4 race straight up. Playoff points are thrown out.
Second will take the Cup ... if none of the other 3 win the race.you said finishing 2nd at homestead the first time..never mind.
Everyone who complains about Truex losing the championship at Homestead must forget about the 2001 Seattle Mariners or the 2007 New England Patriots. In sports, having a spectacular regular season means nothing in the postseason.
that's a bit overstated.
It would be the first real champion since the chase began.
Blaney is already better than Chase, but he needs more time to outright win this.
But as we know, the driver is only a part of a team and the team your driving for canNow THAT is a bit overstated. I'm a big Blaney supporter, but: Chase- 73 starts, 0 wins, 20 top 5's 35 top 10's, 760 laps led, average finish 14.3, lead lap finishes 52. Ryan: 86 starts, 1 win, 7 top 5's, 18 top tens, 321 laps led, average finish 19.5, lead lap finishes 47.
But as we know, the driver is only a part of a team and the team your driving for can
make the difference. Add to that the fact that the Fords are now running at a disadvantage.
You are correct and that still points to the fact that the Fords are running at a disadvantage. Are you suggesting the Chevy teams are any better off than the Ford teams? Besides, for most of the last two years, Hendrick hasn't even had the best Chevy team. The 42 has been the best Chevy most of the time.

If someone with no wins picks up the title, I hope it's because he finishes 37th, in front of the other three in 38th through 40th, preferably after a lap 1 crash that removes all the 'drama' from Homestead.I hope Chase Elliott wins the title finishing 2nd at Homestead. Just to give a big middle finger to NASCAR. If that can't happen, Blaney please.
I can't forget what I never knew in the first place.Everyone who complains about Truex losing the championship at Homestead must forget about the 2001 Seattle Mariners ....
It should in NASCAR. That's the exact argument against "playoffs" in motorsports.
Four weeks is all it takes.Blaney is already better than Chase, but he needs more time to outright win this.
Such bitterness, Charles. If someone with no wins picks up the title, I hope it's because he finishes 37th, in front of the other three in 38th through 40th, preferably after a lap 1 crash that removes all the 'drama' from Homestead.
Try to convince me you wouldn't be laughing right along with me.Such bitterness, Charles.
It wouldn't be unprecedented (in the world of sports) if Truex were to blow it at Homestead. I would say that Truex is the equivalent of the 01 Mariners or 07 Patriots. You still have to perform in the postseason and it isn't uncommon for the team with the best regular season record to not win the championship.
The advantage definitely isn't the engine tuning. Toyota's nose has that scooped flare on each side that I'm sure is making a ton of downforce on tracks 1 mile or larger. That same nose is what's slowing them down at Talladega and Daytona. Ford is more streamlined. Notice that next year's Chevy has a similar nose to the Toyotas. They know what's going on.You are correct and that still points to the fact that the Fords are running at a disadvantage.
I can't believe that Joey has become a 15th place driver and Brad has a problem cracking the top 5. The only Ford near the front is the #4 and even that championship team is finding it hard.
I firmly believe that Toyota out smarted the other two manufacturers and although it took them awhile to get the balance with this new body, it sure is paying off. Part of that advantage could be just the tuning of their engines.
