The WOW moment at Chicago!

It wasn't a failed slider. Larson said that he went in to try and get next to him to kill his momentum and when he realized it wasn't going to stick he knew he had to hit him to bog him down. If Larson lifts there his momentum is killed and KB is gone. He pulled a banzai move and it didn't stick. KB even said that he expected a slider and when Larson didn't give it to him he was shocked. He said it's the first time he expected a slider, prepared for a slider and then it didn't happen. KB talked about how he lifted a little to prepare to cut back down on a cross over attempt, but Larson didn't want him to have the opportunity to do it so he hit him. It was a series of calculated moves by both guys, which is amazing that at the speed they were traveling they are capable to process like that and change plans on a whim. It was a fantastic display of what we all wish it was like all the time. End of the day two of the absolute best, if not the two best wheel man the sport has to offer put on a great display of technical and brute skill in those cars.

Sounds like a failed slider to me. Changed his mind when it didn't work out. It's okay. Everybody is happy.

Super talented, tremendous driver, yes. Great heel? I'm not sure there is much evidence of a 'love to hate' him factor benefiting the sport. Successful black hat characters usually have as much or more charisma than the 'good guys'. It appears to me that most of the time Busch still thinks he should be treated like a hero.

In the world of racing, he often times is a hero. It would take me a week to tell you of all the awesome things I have seen him do ........ including the Bristol sweep TWICE
I saw him drive one time in person and knew right away that he was the only driver I could possibly support .. he is the only reason that I started watching the sport again after Dale passed away.

I remember when people didn’t like Dale Sr.
Because he was good and didn’t care about what people thought of him.
I was never a Sr. fan, per se (Chevrolet,) but I knew he was the **** and I miss him.
I’m not comparing the abilities of KyBu with that of Dale Sr. but I think there are similarities within their respective fanbases.
The biggest difference between Sr. and KyBu is that Sr. didn't mock the fans.
I wouldn't think that mocking the fans is good for your popularity or good for NASCAR, but I suppose in today's version of "politically correct" this kind of behavior is considered perfectly acceptable... then again, for me (an old NASCAR fan) it's one of the reasons I've lost my enthusiasm for today's flavor of NASCAR...

The stages and fake cautions ruined it for me.
I still enjoy a good race, though.

The boo's in the stands were deafening and mine was among them. :p

The Press has their heads up their keester, instead of lying and alibiing and ignoring his behavior, they should be replaying all of his..no wait it would be too long, some of his little temper tante's when he doesn't get his way right behind his recent cry baby stit at Chicagoland. That would help the series bring fans in, instead of waiting for the "young guns" who are mostly shooting blanks. Like our new guy here Corey Mason who comes from the WWE side of entertainment says, people like a bad guy, people need the bad guys. Nascar should take a page or two from the WWE folks. I don't know who's idea it was to call Sr "The Intimidator " but it worked back then and it would work today.

Reminds me of every race I went to that Earnhardt SR raced in
All I heard was boo’s including mine

Not sure of the exact quote but I think Earnhardt said.......I don’t pay attention to the boo’s, when they stop I’ll be concerned

Newman is well known for being hard to pass, he does it again at Chicagoland and not a peep out of the press. Should have been a mic on him after the race asking him about that, Stenhouse who was cut off by KDB, somebody should have been on him to see what he had to day about all that, they keep missing the tempers or fanning the fire, so duh lets interview the winner ..twice. SMH. Slow the cars down a bit so teams will be working on beefing up the fender braces instead of tweaking around in the wind tunnel.

Thank you. I was getting concerned. The line at KB's souvenir hauler is becoming a concern. #IHateBackorders

Because Ryan Newman is irrelevant. He can't even **** up a great race.

No worries for you then. The workers at his trailer at the track last Sunday were very lonely people indeed. The rest of the trailers were very busy.

Little dude walls the legitimate leader of the race, little dude gets driving lesson and crowd boos winner :lol2::lol2: I am going out on a limb and suggesting that very few folks in the stands even knew what happened

Then your limb just broke and you fell on your butt. We all knew that he wrecked Larson on purpose, no bump and run, just wrecked his butt.

Yes he did ......... right after Larson drove him into the wall on purpose. The little fellow admitted to doing so. I am mighty happy Kyle caught the little dude and administered justice

I'm proud for you. You see it your way and I'll see it mine.

There's apparently a little excerpt on the Dale Jr. Download in which Ryan Newman's blocking antics, pure racing, whatever-you-want-to-call-it is discussed.

Irrelevant? Yes. Can't even **** up a great race? I don't know about that. He played his own role in helping setup the Kyle dogfight.

Newman is a mindless ogre with no neck, he is unable to use his rear view mirror

Yeah ..... I saw the replay about 200 times and listened to the Larson interview. Its real clear what happened.
Watch it a couple more times and maybe you'll see the error of your way's.

way after the fact though. The press needs to play up the personalities in the heat of the moment. Newman probably would of said he don't give a sheet about any of them, he has said that before, but the point is IMO they missed that, and I'm sure Stenhouse wasn't happy after KDB took his nose off racing for position against Newman. The press are being too politically correct IMO. A whole wad of them were involved in that finish. Would have loved a presser come up to Newman and say how come you messed up the finish of that race? Or to Stenhouse and say how come you let KDB run across your fender what happened?

Same here. It would have been great if someone had gotten a hold of Newman or Stenhouse right afterwards.

letting these guys after a wreck come out of the infield car center and go it's just a racing deal isn't cutting it. There needs to be you think he did that on purpose questions? You guys been having a problem this race with each other?

Newman would say he's racing for his own position just like when he wouldn't move for Chase at Dover last year.

Right. @StandOnIt more or less said so, too. Newman's a racecar driver who will solemnly fight for everything he can get.

molly coddeling the sponsors isn't working, they are a function of the fans, they leave like a fart in a whirlwind and will return in droves if there is more tempers, and emotions, cultivated IMO

42 hit Kyle and bounced him off the wall, its very clear

hit Kyle..whaa? Larson rubbed him, he rubbed him.:D KDB on the other hand dumped Larson, the crowd and people at home knew the difference. The politically correct Media of course said little did little with all who were involved.
