TOYOTA and its Presence in the USA

On the BBC site today ... Toyota is shutting down a quarter of the elevators at it's Tokyo headquarters is a bid to save money, and has kicked the thermostat on the AC a few notches higher too.

Seems odd considering the significant profits funneled directly to Japan HQ from North American operations.
 
Maybe the dollar to yen exchange rate has dropped. Or maybe its because 30,000 emails were "found" and they now "know" something that the FBI doesnt?

That doesn't make any sense. Less elevators = less productivity and overheated workers = less productivity as well.

Less elevators = more stair climbing = healthier employees = less downtime for medical issues

It's Friday! Time for all the Toyota assemblers, salespeople, and mechanics in America to pick up their paychecks, then promptly mail them back to Japan!
That's just silly. I'm sure a company the size of Toyota has an ATM in the lobby so the employees can send their money back electronically and save the postage.
 
Must channel resources to the support super Chase spec motor. Sacrifices must be made. Virgin in the volcano is so 1990's.
