Travis Kvapil arrested for assault on female and false imprisonment

I'm not sure what N.C. law is but here in California, even if the accuser decides to drop the charges, the state can still pursue a case if they believe there is strong enough evidence to convict.

I'll never hit a woman. I'll completely restrain her & hold her down till the authorities arrive, but id never leave a mark.

That rarely works. Your best bet is to just leave the situation you're in. Trying to restrain someone can escalate things for the worst.

The thing is women know this and often time they try to get in your face, even hit you in some instances knowing you cant touch them.

Yes, some women (usually drunk) do this, which is totally obnoxious. They think that male chivalry is a pass to hit you. Like Smoke14 said, better to walk away though.

That right there is false imprisonment.

Walk away gents.
Every woman I've dated owns & knows how to fire a shotgun. Not a fan of walking away from a woman scorned with weapons close by.

You are dating the wrong women.

I would never, ever date a woman that was more of a man than I am. :D

That will get you arrested.

99% of men are bigger and stronger than the woman, so she's the one that typically needs protecting with special laws and measures. I just wish there were also special laws and measures for those few woman who abuse those laws to get even.

I was once married to a crazy wife. I can see how this sort of thing could not be his fault. I also think being a nascar driver and all the things that go along with it might even lead to some poor choices in spouses.

Gold diggers can be annoying :)

From here..

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Travis Kvapil allegedly pulled his wife into a bedroom by her hair and struck her in the head as she tried to pull away Tuesday night, causing minor injuries and resulting in his arrest, according to police and court records.

All crass joking aside, that's some serious stuff. If he did that, I say lock him up in county jail for 30 days so he never again gets the urge to hit her.

There's always 2 sides to every story and there's an old saying that says "it takes 2 to tango". So I'll reserve judgment until all the facts are presented.

All joking aside, this is NOT a laughing matter. Domestic violence is a very serious issue and touches A LOT of people from coast to coast, women, men and children of all backgrounds. Anyone who has grown up in a house where violence is commonplace can spend a lifetime running from those demons. It's often a vicious cycle in which victims later go on to be abusers. I for one hope there were no children involved and all the parties can resolve their problems like civilized human beings.

My current car is an automatic but I love to drive stick.
Lisa, come and hangout with me for a while, when you leave you will be able to drive a 9, 10, 13, 15, 21 speed, and a 6 by 4. An automatic I'm not so good at.:D

I have my 11 yr old granddaughter driving my 200 cc atv and shifting gears like a pro. The younger they start the easier it is.

If there is any truth to it, photos of his wife roughed up, he'll be out of a job.

"NASCAR does not condone the actions with which Travis Kvapil has been charged and we are disappointed to learn of this incident. We have been in close communication with the race team and are in the process of gathering as much information as possible. NASCAR takes this matter very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation as it moves forward."

If Travis Kvapil can't race, who will finish 36th this weekend?

Seriously though, a man assualting a woman is never cool. And Travis, you're not exactly the most handsome guy out there, so you might want to take care of a woman that will have you.

Wow, really doesn't look good for Kvapil, can't imagine NASCAR lets him run knowing, for a fact, that he grabbed his chick by the hair and hit her in the head. Talk about over the line.

Surprise he's actually in the car at all.
