Well, this should be entertaining. Best of luck Travis.

Travis Pastrana will attempt Caeser's Palace jump

Just over 50 years after Evel Knievel’s ill-fated attempt to jump the fountains at Caesar’s Palace, Travis Pastrana is recreating the stunt on an Indian Scout FTR750.

The 11-time X Games gold medallist will also recreate two of Knievel’s other famous stunts on the day (Sunday, July 8), attempting to clear 52 stacked, crushed cars and then 16 busses before the fountain jump.

Evel Knievel attempted to jump in 1967 but crashed on his landing ramp. He sustained multiple broken bones and was in a coma following the event.

Stuntman Gary Wells attempted the jump 13 years later, but missed his landing ramp altogether sustaining horrific injuries.

The jump has been completed successfully by Knievel’s son Robbie Knievel on a motocross bike, but the Scout FTR750 to be used by Pastrana is similar to the machinery used by Evel or Wells.

The attempt will be shown live on the History channel, Sunday, 8 July, and if you're interested find Indian motorbikes available at MCN Bikes for Sale now.

I have loved these kind of stunts my whole life.
From Evel to the new years eve red bull stunts.
I even had my older brothers take me to watch the
Evel canyon jump on a closed circuit large cinema screen
at our local municipal auditorium. We couldn't find
plywood and cinder blocks quick enough to make
our own bicycle jumping ramps as kids.

Good luck Travis, and uh, wear a cup.

I just saw a commercial for this...its a 3 hour broadcast?

The bike he’s using is nothing like Evel’s... it’s basically an AMA flat track bike. The suspension is subpar, but it’s not like he’s jumping buses with a bus.

Still gnarly, just sayin

I'm guessing there will be pads everywhere, but still this ain't no joke. I'm thinking if he makes it, that sets up jump #2 break Evil's record. I'm not buying Pastrana has similar equipment, it might look similar, but that's about it IMO.

i wonder why that bike?$$$$$ i bet 97.5% of the people watching think a bike is a bike.oh well good luck to him.

Y'all ready? Coming up in about an hour at 8pm EST on The History Channel.

First jump successful. He said the hardest part was putting his suit on!
He is in full leathers and its 100 degrees fh there.
Bus jump coming up next, then the fountains.

His front end came up a little higher than I would have liked on the landing.
I think they said that was 193 ft. jump. Fountains next, probably in an hour or so.
Back to catching up on the dvr recordings.

I had an XL600 (298 lbs.) that I used to jump the crap out of. I repaired frame cracks in three different places, including swing arm pivot.
For me it comes down to how much suspension travel there is.

The weight I listed was an estimate, the Indian flat track bike is available to the public for about 49 thousand dollars. If the ramps are right then the landing will be pretty smooth. They use that Indian for TT races as well and there are jumps, but small ones

You can bet they ran the math on the jump and those ramps.
Or this wouldn’t be televised.

A million times, as well as the exact speed. That Indian might be a tad lighter than 400, they list the XR-750 Harley at 295 dry ( which I find difficult to believe) The jumps should be a sure thing, I hope so, I really like Travis. We got to meet him when he was racing Nascar and he is a real nice young man

Fountain jump successful. That stuff still makes me stop and stare 48 years later.
Glad he was safe. Now I say he does the rocket over the snake river next. I am sure
Elon Musk and SpaceX can hook him up with something .

Thank you for the updates. :)
And glad Pastrana made it home safely.
