Truck RACE thread ---- Canada

Lame. Lame move by Austin. Will not be a fan of anything he does. His truck was so much faster, and he didint even attempt to race for the win.

However, the 33.... you gained some respect

Sometimes you do, so there is that too.
I mean had he not did it, he probably misses his chance at the playoffs. It might be different if he took out someone who needed the win, when he didn't need the win himself.

What have we said about blocking for years?

I'm happy for Cindric, it could have been cleaner, but at the end of the day he win and wanted it bad enough. Cindric will learn as he gets older.

Oh I know, and I understand why he did it, but it just sucks when it has to be done on the more dirty side.

I don't know, you need the win for the playoffs sometimes you gotta do things.

Unfortunately there is truth to that, and that is the situation created by "the playoffs" and the pressure these kids face to make it. Races don't play out as they would normally, wins are taken at nearly any cost by drivers not yet in. For once I share Michael Waltrip's opinion, and the clear resignation in his voice as he describes that's just how it is.

Oh yeah, that's it, Kaz made him dump him..jackass

He'll learn, I'm certain Kaz will not forget this race.

Remember JHN was eliminated after the first round with that accident at Mosport. The last round at 'Dega, he lost his engine. I'm certain karma will find its way to Cindric as well.

Definitely a dump rather than a bump. Kinda dirty... but it is what it is.

Speaking of dirty, I love how Gragson shoved it in there 4 wide, taking the 8 and 74 out of contention... then holds up the eventual winner, gets nudged, and is damn near in tears about it.

No lie, I was laughing my ass off at that.

I want to ask the people who don't like the move, what you would do if this was probably your last chance to make the playoffs? Would you just settle for second?

I switched back over the NBCSN so I didnt hear what Michael said, what was his opinion ?

You gotta go for it. It just wasn't as pretty as it could have been imo.

Exactly. I agree the move wasn't clean at all, but I can't honestly say I wouldn't have done it. If I had a win already and was in the playoffs I would handle it differently yeah and try a cleaner win. But the championship at the end is what matters.

I don't have direct quotes, but his tone was dejected and reserved, and he stated that drivers doing whatever it takes to win is just the reality nowadays.
Thanks

Who is saying he had to settle for second? He had five more corners. He could have tried bumping and running. Instead, he chose to dump and run. I knew Austin would do it because that's who he is, but there are options in between settling for second and wrecking someone.

The thing is, sometimes a bump and run might not be the easiest move, plus beside Ryan Blaney has anyone won clean here? It's just how this race always ends.

One MIS fan to another... I completely agree

I realize others have wrecked to win before, it doesn't mean it's any less dirty today.

And I agreed it's dirty, but I also don't blame him. Nascar made these win and your in rules, this is the mess that happens.

Would you have a problem with it if it was a driver you like? Say if Carl was still racing what would you say about it?

no apology, no explanation except Kaz put him in a box. Like sorry bud but what you did, you did it to yourself for doing too good a job driving..there's you sign.

I'd say it was a dirty move. Yes, bump and run are harder, but this is supposed to be hard. When you resort to wrecking someone because it's "easier" that's just sad

For some reason that ending caused me to watch the end of the 1991 Sonoma Cup race again. I wonder what exactly it would take to cause NASCAR to repeat that call.

Still didn't answer me about if it was someone you like. You're one of the members here I actually like and I don't want to ruin that or anything tho.

it's good to learn what you are dealing with early instead of being surprised later. Cendric showed me what he is made of. It isn't much IMO.

Kid can wheel it and he's getting better on ovals.

Also, he's won before the more hyped Briscoe. I don't think it's the best move, but give him credit for what he did. His pit crew screwed up and he came back through the field from 16th.

Looked more to me like the leader got on the brakes harder earlier than fella behind him. Kinda the downfall of being the leader at road courses. You lose that braking edge if theres no other drivers around you to base your timing on.

Checkers or wreckers IMO.

I'm a big fan of Cindric (insert Kyle Busch and Hamlin fan joke here). I'm not a big fan of what he did either, but this team won't be here next year and if he checks up his only option would've been to Chase Elliott him in the final corner, which would have given him more hate. Kids an ace on road courses, had significantly faster truck, and its go for your first win or miss the chase. This has happened every year here and that's just the way it is. Grala had a win and is locked into the chase, and he didn't end up Custered or Dilloned, he'll be fine.

I'm not mad at Cindric at all.

Its the same sh!t we see at Mosport every year.
Honestly I hate seeing the same **** every year. Some daddy's boy wrecking someone for the win. I guess NASCAR's okay with this race just being a free-for-all.

Cindric had the best truck by far, he's the "best" road course racer out there, he has half a lap left, and he just drives it in way deep and plows right through Grala. A really weak move, I just can't respect it.

So he says Kaz had a win already so it's basically fine.

Can't believe this guy is getting Penske rides handed to him on a silver platter.
