Trucks at Eldora: Bloomquist

and SOLD OUT! :) not one thing on how it is going to be covered, pay for view, network, or nothing. Somebody with a microphone needs to ask Smoke what the hey is up.

Yea, I'm coming up empty too. Seems they haven't said much at all except "we're going to Eldora!"
Dont matter, me DP and 20,000 of our best friends are going to HAVE A FREAKIN BLAST. Know-what-I-mean??

It's a Tuck race. It will be on SPEED or whatever the current name of the network is. MRN is doing the radio side. As far as the race goes. Full details will be announced after Martinsville. The only details that I've heard so far came via Sirius/XM NASCAR Radio. They only said that the will be practicing on Tuesday and that there will be heat races leading up to the main. Nothing on tires/setups/etc.....

I looked on speed and didn't see a thing mentioning coverage. thanks for the info. my eyeballs will be glued to the tube. Looks like they are going to run a goodyear, and it looks like they are using the regular width wheels they always use, at least at the test anyway.

They cover the entire season. This is a points paying race on the schedule. It will be on the same network as all other Truck races.

GoodYear is the official tire of NASCAR. That pretty much tells you right there.

excuse me for my enthusiasm. i love the idea of this race. and am extremely jealous of those of you making the trip.

i grew up spending saturday nights at my local dirt track. and i think it was Greg who mentioned earlier the unplanned excitement that goes along with an event like this. in my youth there was no internet to either build excitement nor tear down an event. you showed up at whatever event was being held and then was thrilled to death when someone you never expected, but had read about in the hawkeye racing news showed up.

and that's how i see this event. not sure how the track will hold up. and never been to eldora although i have followed events there forever. i completely agree with VaDirt. i think the track will hold up with a likelyhood of it getting one lane rubbered up. but.... there will still be racers more than willing to take chances rather than follow the leader.

one more eldora rumor i've read many times: cell phone service in rossburg is terrible. not a big deal to those of you there. but for guys like me who will be searching for all the most current info i can get, especially from forum members, it will be a pain. cause if live updates from the world at eldora crashes the website server, i expect the truck race to be even worse.

hope the rules allow a bunch of "dirt track ringers" to attempt to make the race. and i hope this turns into a huge success for nascar so they might consider other opportunities.
