Trucks @ Dega Race Thread

Don't try this at home. We are professional racing drivers.

And I'm surprise Kyle is running this race. He doesn't seem to like plate races so this is odd.

Better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully he's alright to run tomorrow.

The Peludo {sp} truck looked like the cage collapsed on the drivers side. hopefully he is ok.

Everyone looks physically to be alright, congrats to Johnny, Thor Racing & Mike Curb, sweeping the plate races this season.

Yeah, pack racing blows. It is a shame Nascar tailors the cars/trucks to race that way.

Sadly it is the only way to run this race.

Track is too massive to treat it like a 1.5 miler.

Plate racing in itself is not the problem. Its the stupid mistakes the drivers make. This Paludo douchebag got too antsy there.

Yeah but it forces drivers to do stupid stuff. It's almost impossible not to cause a wreck sooner or later.

They need to dump Dega and dump Daytona.
Even if someone else gets killed at another plate race, they'll keep sanctioning races, because wrecks sell tickets.
Pathetic.

Considering most of the race was a snooze fest.. I enjoyed the tree tandems challenging for the win.. Shouldn't you be off crying about how horrible Alan is

You just ooze douchebaggerism dont you?

No the finish wasn't "awesome."

You're one of those idiots who watches for the wrecks aren't you. I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

You're a waste of internet bandwidth.

Have a pathetic time enjoying more crashes.

Earlier in the race the guys in the booth were saying they don't run restrictor plates on the trucks, only the same tapered spacer they run everywhere.

The trucks boxy shapes have enough of an aero disadvantage that they hinder their own speed without the use of the restrictor plate, they've never had restrictor plates on them...

Until the wreck on the last lap, it was a good race. They need safer barriers everywhere, but other than that I don't know why everyone is bitching about plate races

Someone already did die.
Okay.. so anyone got any other ideas?

I just don't get why they don't have them on every wall at every part of every track... there's absolutely no excuse for it. Especially considering people have died, been injured etc..

Probably one of the most horrific truck crashes was Geoffrey Bodine in 2000. This wasn't enough for NASCAR to re-think running the Trucks here.
When nobody has a solution for preventing crashes at tracks like this from happening, it's time to stop racing these types of racetracks.

I don't think they need to get rid of the Daytona & Talladega events, pretty much all the wrecks today were caused by impatience on the drivers part. Drivers not watching their mirrors, making bad decisions...

I'm really offended being put in my place by a Gordon fan.. The only cars I don't mind seeing wrecked are the 24 and 48 cuz I despise all of their bandwagon fans.. As I see the HMS fan base grow, I see fewer race fans at the track.. Have fun on the internet all night I'm off to get some trim

There is no more ideas. Its simple.

SAFER BARRIERS EVERYWHERE!

NASCAR thinks the car safety improvements balances the lack of safe barriers on the inside of the tracks. They are sadly mistaken and they know it so its puzzling why they dont just put them in place already.
