Trucks --- Kansas RACE thread

I love Johnny, flaws and all. He has a personality and calls it how he sees it. I'd be mad if I got wrecked leading last corner, and if was any of you guy's drivers you'd be flipping a sh!t too lol

He should have the knowledge by now to know that he threw it away. That was a totally awkward, hack, noob way to handle that last lap.

For a Larson fan, you sure do talk a lot of sh!t on him. Haha

No because he always hates on bowyer with a good resume but doesn't use the same logic for Larson. That was my only point. I like both of them and wish they would run better.

Keep in mind, Since Larson has been in NASCAR, he has never had a "top tier" car. He has delivered some awesome showings, with occasional wall slaps thrown in. I think he is gonna be just fine.

Kyle Larson = Joey Logano as far as career arch. JMO.

True, but neither has bowyer. Larson shouldn't be 22nd in points though, that's pretty bad. And not making the 16 car chase is inexcusable. Honestly he's about the caliber driver of bowyer: pretty good but not great. That was the whole point I was making lol

Didn't do squat. Even when Joey was "bad" he did win 2 cup races for JGR. And countless ARCA, K&N, and Xfinity races for the team. My whole thing with Larson is okay I don't expect you to win right now in cup, but you should be able to easily point your way into the chase and win way more then he does in Xfinity. He has a good car in that series

Except Clint has 12 years in Cup and Kyle only has 4.

Bowyer won a race and finished 3rd in the points his second year. Larson has never led the most laps of a race and hasn't made the chase. I too think he'd do better with a different team, but as of now he's a dissapointment

Did you fail math?
8 wins in 12 years is not a competitive career. Clint is 36 and is on the downside of his career. His best years are over. Larson's best years are ahead of him.
Come to grips, man.

RCR wasn't slouching in 2006/7.

They were "top tier" af.

I just think it's apples to oranges.

Based on? How is 2nd and 3rd in points and making the chase almost every year bad? He's in the same caliber of rides as Larson. And at the rate he's going getting to 8 wins might be tough lol

RCR hasn't been a top tier team since around Dale died. None of their drivers won a race in 2009. Harvick and bowyer were keeping that team afloat. They haven't been a championship team since late nineties. There's a reason Kevin left, then BOOM. Champion

He's 16th in wins for current drivers. Exactly where he belongs.
One more win than Jamie.
8 wins in 371 attempts.
What if your parachute opened 8 times in 371 jumps?
Would you fund a driver with Clint's record?

If Kyle Busch or Erik Jones aren't available? Yes

I don't understand these networks fetish for putting pit guys as the play by play guy. ESPN did that with Dave Burns, and he was so boring I would rather eat cyanide than listen to him lol

I actually kinda like Welch in the booth, he's way better than when ESPN tagged him in to do some standalone NNS races in 2010.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but I don't even see Bowyer winning in the 14. I think the guy is finished.

what a boring, awful disastrous joke! I would have to be paid alot of money not just to attend the race but even watch it for 5 minutes. Were there plus
or minus 3000 people there?

Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Kasey Kahne and Kevin Harvick dominate when they run these Truck races. And Kasey Kahne isn't even as good as the other three. Bowyer wasn't even a factor though.

Clint Bowyer's always been a lot like Kasey Kahne. I am still shocked Stewart picked him and not Kyle Larson. I mean, Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch won't be racing that much longer themselves either. And Danica Patrick's probably never going to win a race.

I mean, you are aware RCR was a solid team at the time? Kevin Harvick was contending for championships and Jeff Burton was winning quite a few races after going five years without a win. You're comparing a team that contended for championships with a team that, as a whole, has not done anything since 2010.

Speaking of, I really hope RCR doesn't just cater to Austin and Ty for years to come. I don't think much of Brandon Jones but he's shown potential in XFINITY and I hope they move him up. And I hope they have room to move Kate Dallenbach up through the ranks -- she's been pretty impressive herself. I mean, Ty Dillon seems to be regressing as a driver from when he first came in to NASCAR in 2012 and Austin Dillon has always been kind of underwhelming in performance.

Welch does not have a play by play voice and I really wish they would just put AA back on double duty for NXS and the Trucks. One of the few announcers I dislike.

As for the race, I like Ben Rhodes but... c'mon

http://www.motorsport.com/nascar-tr...mistake-in-truck-race-on-restart-call-734427/

On the next to last restart of the Toyota Tundra 250, it appeared Timothy Peters had jumped the restart and started before then-leader Matt Crafton in the restart zone.

NASCAR officials immediately placed the restart “under review” but eventually cleared Peters of any wrongdoing.

On Saturday in the Sprint Cup Series drivers meeting, series director Richard Buck said Peters should have been penalized, even though he gave the spot back to Crafton.

“That one’s on us,” Buck said.

In answering a question to driver Carl Edwards, Buck also reminded drivers “giving back the spot” is not a way to avoid a penalty.
