The trucks on the road course...oh yes
Guaranteeing it will rain from sunrise to around 1:30, so the weather-obsessed can scream how the race should have been scheduled for 3:30p.Gateway at noon?
Lally is offering his services:
If I had the resources man...
IMSA is off that weekend. Could see some of those guys filling Truck/Xfinity rides. Earl Bamber had something lined up with RCR’s Xfinity program before the season got screwed up, it’d be cool to see that pan out.
Still better than a 3 am race for me...Guaranteeing it will rain from sunrise to around 1:30, so the weather-obsessed can scream how the race should have been scheduled for 3:30p.
How is that scary? Here's a scary thought - the return of JPM??
They would have a better chance with the new Cup car. IRS, larger tires and a paddle shifter is almost identical to a GTLM car. I think they would be like a duck out of water in an Xfinity car without a whole lot of practice.I want to see one of the Taylor boys throw an Xfinity car around the Daytona Road Course, I loved the days of Road Course Cup ringers. If anything this development calls for it, put a former Rolex winner behind the wheel and let’s go.

Lally has a handful of Top 10s over the years with subpar equipment, SS-Green Light and maybe someone else. Jack Hawksworth put it on the front row in his first attempt at Mid-Ohio a year ago. Given that they’ll probably have a couple of practices again like last weekend, they’ll be fine if they’re good enough. It would be tough to put a deal together so quickly though. They would have a better chance with the new Cup car. IRS, larger tires and a paddle shifter is almost identical to a GTLM car. No, no, no, no, no, no, no...says the Daytona jet dryer drivers. Here's a scary thought - the return of JPM??
Their RDE&Q organization.Kind of a re-post....How the hell is Goodyear managing this? Remember when they had to test The Roval, and change construction? Why is this a non-issue?

Like the Indy infield, I think NASCAR is going to have to hold practice sessions for all series. Very few of them have run this layout. They would have a better chance with the new Cup car. Ah, but I just remembered it's a road course race. What jet dryers? No, no, no, no, no, no, no...says the Daytona jet dryer drivers.
Research, Development, Engineering & QualityYa lost me.....
I'm just blown away that they are going to have the trucks race there. Doubt that porkchop will pass up that race, but it should be really something to see the trucks running the course.Like the Indy infield, I think NASCAR is going to have to hold practice sessions for all series. True, true, predominantly a road racer though. Cindric also picked up stock car road racing pretty well pretty quickly for mostly being an open wheel/sports car guy in the years leading up to his NASCAR career.Lally was Cup Rookie of the Year way back when.
Kyle only has one Truck race left and it’s currently scheduled for Texas next week, probably too late for he and his team to change it.I'm just blown away that they are going to have the trucks race there. Cindric is bad, stick with the script.True, true, predominantly a road racer though. Cindric also picked up stock car road racing pretty well pretty quickly for mostly being an open wheel/sports car guy in the years leading up to his NASCAR career.
I just thought it would be easier for the Taylor fellas to get an Xfinity ride I guess rather than a Cup ride. Either way I'd be excited to see them give it a go.They would have a better chance with the new Cup car. IRS, larger tires and a paddle shifter is almost identical to a GTLM car. Yeah that part for sure. I was talking just about the car style. These days IMO road racers are at a real disadvantage trying to race something that is heavy, wheel hops and has a solid rear axle, and stops and handles like a dump truck.I just thought it would be easier for the Taylor fellas to get an Xfinity ride I guess rather than a Cup ride. The Truck and X series run more r/c's than they used to. Young guns arrive at the Cup level with way more skills than they brought in the past. The ringers don't have as much of an overall advantage as they used to, but when you toss in the factors you mentioned, it's not worth much for a Cup team to bring in a one-off.Yeah that part for sure. I'd love to see Fat Tony jam his butt in a truck or X car for this one, considering he missed Indy. Somebody drag Mark Martin to this one.I'm just blown away that they are going to have the trucks race there. No I don't remember
The final road course race of the season for both the Cup and Xfinity Series takes place this weekend on Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Roval.
When it comes to Goodyear tires, both Cup and Xfinity teams will race on the same traditional road course rubber, but air pressure recommendations will be different than in tires used at Watkins Glen International and Sonoma Raceway.
