Updated 2020 Schedule Thru June 21

Couldn’t have said it any better than that.

You’ll be interested to know that I just spent ten minutes watching a gorgeous hawk managing the air while he or she decided between the rabbit and the squirrel.

How the hell could you leave me hanging like that.....Which one was it rabbit or squirrel? Geez.

It's a playoff race also..double whammy. Rumor has it that nobody (and we know who) gets to jump the start by racing in a lower series first.
Yeah I saw that. Was thinking GMS might lend a truck to Chase for that one too. Kyle does have a little bit of advantage after running the Rolex unfortunately, but we'll see. Larry Mac seems to think there won't be any practice for it.

The Firecracker 400 is the cutoff race.
Thanks. I got confused and thought they'd swapped the 400 out for the roval run. Or maybe 'hoped' is a better word than 'thought'.

I swore I'd be there if they ever ran Cup on the infield. Looks like something came up to keep me from even considering it. I hope there will be another chance.

Just locked in my tickets for the Daytona road course and Coke Zero. Pumped!
Grabbed road course tickets today too. They actually are more distanced than they were for IMSA on the 4th as well.

Would've liked to go to the Xfinity race on Saturday too but it’s understandable. Truck/Cup is a hell of a twin bill, stoked we get to see it.

Doesn't make a lick of sense to me at all, being that most of the field has never even been on the Daytona Roval, and those that have were in vastly different cars. Would an hour of practice REALLY be a deal breaker?

Four hours of practice total, though, across four series. Other than that, I agree that no practice on a previously unseen course is ill advised at best. With as much room as there is in the Daytona infield, it should be possible to keep each series' participants separated.

Man, talk about throwing drivers into the deep end.

NASCAR needs to let teams bring a backup and I say, give the drivers a 30 to 45 minute warm-up prior to the race starting. It's crazy they gave Xfinity time to practice, but not Cup.

Its going to be an expensive weekend, unfortunately.

Also this:

They have to have more people at the track and in the pits when they have a practice, backup car etc. Mask shamers should already know this.
NASCAR found a way for Xfinity to practice before the Indy road course. I realize there's a issue of scale between one series at Indy and four at 'Tona, but they've already shown it CAN be done.

I just remember how chaotic the first practice was for the Charlotte Roval. We're talking about an actual race here lol.

If the practice is the morning of the race, you use whatever people you have there. As for no backups, the IMSA guys don't ever have backups. If somebody wads one up in practice, give them their last place point and credit for starting the event and move on.

By mask shamers Stan means people who rely on science and logic to manage the spread of a deadly virus.

So far, the shamers are responsible for about 90% of the 140,000 plus COVID deaths in what was the most technologically advanced country on the planet. Shameful indeed.

Sorry man I should have said constant whiners. Not knowing the reason why they aren't having practices but on the other hand raising hell (mask shamers) when they don't see someone wearing a mask is just another one of many ironical things going on today.

Better a mask shamer than a screeching bitch and her heavily armed protester companion bleating about their "rights".

People are dying because far too many of these ^ morons don't give a rat'sass about their fellow citizens.

Beyond that, I think it would be easier for everyone if they had a one hour familiarization session. All of this assumes, of course, that they actually make it to Florida. I don't think that's a certainty.

The best drivers in the world don't need practice, besides more room for error at Daytona then Charlotte

There is some irony with him calling others "constant whiners"

I have to be honest.....hard to fully enjoy NASCAR the way I usually do when they are only racing in places where they are allowed instead of places where science says they should be.....if those places even exist.

No practice at the Daytona road course is stupid. For God's sake, they tested and tested at the Roval, and then Goodyear chimed in with tire development, and then all of a sudden, NASCAR can just go to Daytona and drop the rag. This is insane.

Time for all drivers to do some I-Racing before the Daytona RC. Even those who might not buy into simulators entirely...
