Walking Dead returned!!

To me reading the comics just gives me a different perspective. There are plenty of differences between the two that I never feel spoiled in anyway. There are characters in the TV show that aren't in the comics, and vice versa. They have taken completely different story arcs with certain characters in the TV show than they did with the comics. Sure there are similarities between the two, but also big difference to which each stand on their own. My suggestions to the read the comics have never been so that you know more than others, but to expand discussion on this forum for the overall walking dead universe. That said, play the tell tale video games too!
But like I said, I'm thoroughly enjoying the TV series on it's own merit, and not because of any other reason. And discussions within the forum are based on the series, not the comic books. And again, like I said, I don't want someone telling me what I should read (or play) to enjoy the series more. It's like book nerds telling people that like the LOTR movies that they should read the books. If they like the movies for the the movies sake, then fine.

This show gets better with every episode. A year or so ago I never thought I'd be interested in this show. Now I'm hooked. I'm hooked to Talking Dead as well. We DVR both shows. Shout out to NetFlix for making all of the seasons available.

Relying on this show to not suck. Between the Chargers getting shut out 37-0 and that cup race, I've had about enough of the TV.

Talking Dead is a must watch for me also. You can watch the episodes on line, I've been doing that lately and I've caught things I missed from the show the night before.

ENJOY!:):):):):)

A lot of people didn't like the show last night, but i liked the side story. However, even that opened up a whole bunch of new questions? How did Beth end up there? What was the time frame? How the hell did Carl end up there? Who the hell are these crazy cops?

Carl? Think you mean Carol don't you? When Beth got outside she ran past some cars, one was a Caddy I think that had the white X on the rear, very similar to the car that drove away from Daryl at the funeral home.

Yup. Saw that. She wasn't rescued, she was kidnapped.

The post apocalyptic world is so twisted!

Yeah, I meant Carol. Oops.

I've been watching the show from the beginning. Currently on season 4. That Lizzie kid is creepy as hell.:owquitit:

Last nights episode was a pretty damn good one.

I didn't think so at all. I thought last week's was much better. I guess we learned a little (very little) background on Abraham ("angry James Hetfield" as I call him.) The "I'm not a scientist" revelation was a surprise, but other than that.....Meh.

I never thought Eugene would be able to do anything if he ever did get to DC. He certainly got a ass whoopin' and I gave him a 10 for the face plant on a asphalt road!
Abraham, death of his wife and kids puts a human face on him but I couldn't see so have to wonder why didn't they turn.
3 more weeks then the mid season break.:(

btw, how did the water gun work with the engine not running to power the pump???

Good question. But then again, how do dead people come back to life? It's just our job to suspend disbelief and enjoy ;)

When I was in Parochial school we liked to play 'Stump the Sister' by asking a question like that. Usually the reply was "It's a mystery of faith" then "Stick out your hand".You knew a wooden ruler was going to meet with your knuckles, then "Shaddup":):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):). ...

I agree. But then again, I say that about every episode.

I thought that was a huge revelation to dash everyone's hopes. Eugene basically used his lie to have body guards. I think when he realized that they were going to charge down the road through the middle of a ranch full of walkers, he knew they'd never make it through that.

My favorite part was during the flashback where Eugene is trying to outrun the three walkers. He then tells Abraham that he thinks that they are getting faster.

Lol "hey wait man, where you going??" It was like something out of Shrek.

Did I see this right when I was watching this past Sunday's episode? Only 3 more episodes until a break that will last until February? Damn.

Yep, you saw right.

Again, the water gun deal. Are walkers like the Wicked Witch of the West? They melt when hit by water???
None got up after the water knocked them down.

:D:D:D:D

Yep, you saw right.
They were all ready 3 season deep, backlogged on Netflix when I started to watch this show. I watched the first three seasons over a two or three week time span. From that point on I have to wait like those that have been following it from the beginning. Not fun I tell you. Not fun at all!

Fall break sucks. Blacklist is also on a fall break until February

Way back it was thought a lot of viewers wouldn't care for the ax in the head skull splitting around holiday time.
It would also give the actors time to 'recharge'. No idea if those statements they made then are accurate but it does make sense.

Walkers are in a state of decay, so yeah the water pretty much melts them. I'd hate to live in a world like that. Could you imagine the smell.

I still like the show but these episodes focusing on just one or two main characters aren't rated as high on my list, YMMV

That van scene was not realistic at all IMHO. Compressed vertebrae fractures anyone???

I'm thinking Beth is going to turn all spider monkey on crack on Dawn.

Last week, when Beth and the doc were on the roof did anyone else catch the person on a roof top in the distance with a rifle? Daryl?

That, and the van must've been part cat, to fall off nose first, and then suddenly land on it's wheels. But I guess in a place where the dead come back to life, and their heads explode like watermelons, you have to be able to suspend disbelief a little. ;)

I didn't notice the guy in the distance in the Beth episode.

yeah...and the fact that when the van landed it had its headlights perfectly punched out had me fuming too, but as you say Dirt, we have to suspend disbelief.

Im reading max brooks Undead survival guide...its awesome.

Gotta agree with @Bobw , the episodes where the focus is only on one part of the group for the entire episode aren't my favorites. Especially when they do it back to back. I like a little bit of everything with each episode. I think that's what we're going to get next week after seeing the previews. And yes, I did notice the person on the rooftop. I just assumed that it was one of their own on watch.

Yeah, the whole van falling off the bridge scene was a stretch but like @VaDirt says, the dead are coming back to life. I can overlook those kind of moments. I would have liked to have seen it rain zombies for a minute or so while they all fell off the bridge. That may have made the scene better with the intermittent sounds and the crushing of the roof top with zombie after zombie landing on them.

A question I have..... Who the hell camps out on a pedestrian bridge? Very cool scene when they come upon them stuck in their sleeping bags and tents but seriously, they looked rather misplaced. It was somewhat amusing to see them try to get out of their sleeping bags. That's probably about what I look like I'd imagine.

Yet another question I have on the Beth episode..... So..... these people are in a hospital that apparently has many floors. They seem to be primarily on one of the upper ones. We can only assume that none of the elevators are in working order. Do these cops really run up and down all of those steps every day to get in and out of that building? And how about carrying all of these people they tend to abduct? They have to carry them the whole way up there too? Also, why do you throw the dead down the damn elevator shaft? Wouldn't it make more sense to throw them off the side of the building. That place has got to smell.

Just one more, for now..... In one of Carol's flashbacks it shows here just outside Terminus, or whatever it's called, Carol removes her blood and guts smeared protective vest. Why wouldn't you keep something like that protective vest in a big a$$ Ziploc® bag for future use. Sure, it would be a little tough to haul around the zombie apocalypse world but I think I'd make the effort. Actually, I don't think I'd need the damn Ziploc® bag. I'd just wear my B&G protective vest all the time. My character's nickname would probably be Stinky.

Overall, another great episode but I need to know what is going on w/everyone else. Is it Sunday yet?

Oh, and then there's this.....

Good thing NASCAR isn't on Sunday nights.

Next Sunday is the mid-season finale. Lots of loose ends to tie up.
Eugene going to survive?
Abraham going to get back to normal, his normal I mean.
Where is that group headed?
Fr Gabe? That boy is screwed up!
Bob the cop needs a beatin' after what he did to Sasha.
Rick and the others going to rescue Beth and Carol?

Talking Dead had Rosita on. that girl sure does clean up purty! :eatpointe
