This just in: a bus stop will be added to every oval on the backstretch to ensure Chase will win most of the races.
Yah know, it could be the Charlotte Roval is nothing but chicanes. Look at turns 1 through 4, and then 5 through 8. A case could be made that they're basically extended chicanes. Toss in the two true bus stops and it's a Chasefest.

There is nothing good about watching these cars crawl around in water. How have people not learned that by now
I don't get it either. It wouldn't be quite as bad if it weren't for all the spray, which not only screws up the racing, it makes the race very difficult to watch. ESPECIALLY at the Glen, I want to see the cars flat out balls to the wall, not tiptoeing around. I love the Glen so much, I think Cup should run there FOUR times a year.

Elliott is due for a road course win this year. He's shut out so far. But I have a feeling something will happen, or he will just be the 3rd best car today.

It's been a weird season.

Well, sometimes the truth hurts. It’s a shame more people don ‘t embrace it.
The truth is start times are based on when the networks' research shows the most people will watch, and their willingness to accept that a later start time will result in statistically acceptable number of delays each season.

^^^ Complain to the people who pay $1 Billion a year for the broadcast rights.
Well, when you sell your soul to the devil…… the question NEVER asked is how much would they have paid letting NASCAR decide the start times. There WAS a time when NASCAR had the clout to probably get almost anything they wanted, and didn’t take advantage of it. Now, not so much. All Brian was concerned about was the $$$.

Said nobody who is attending a race in person.

I agree, but the truth is income from attendance is a percentage of what tracks get from TV. Most of the 2020 season was run to empty stands but the tracks (SMI and NASCAR) still turned profits off TV revenue.
While I agree with Jackman…this is the right way of thinking here. TV pays the $$$$$ they decide start times. Done deal….we have an actual NASCAR race today with a former F1 WORLD CHAMPION in it, under the threat of rain and getting to watch these drivers get at it under the weather….and all some are concerned about is a start time. Good grief. Anyways these rascal race fans in this picture…they’re ready for today

Altruism doesn’t pay the bills ... or the tracks, or the teams.

Facts of life.

While I agree with Jackman
Oh, I'd much prefer a 1:00 start myself. And no stage breaks, and a total points championship. And a flying unicorn that craps bratwurst and onions and pees 4.5% ABV Macintosh cider.

If 3:00 is the price for live coverage of entire races, undelayed and uncut, with P & Q coverage, I'm on board. I attend two races a year but watch 34.

Don't forget the track tweakers..The race would be better here or here or here and on this date or this date on and on.

Agree completely and well said. While I prefer some of the old way….this current version isn’t so bad.
