Back From The Dead
Now the BMW is slamming doors with the second Ferrari.
That's exactly what I said out loud!Go get ‘em, Mick!
The only thing I can think of is trying to get into clean air and out of the fight with the BMW and Ferrari. Otherwise, yeah…they still need two stops.Mick pits the Alpine with 49 energy still left. WTF?
So they’ve leapt up to second ahead of the BMW and the Ferraris, but still need one stop. I think the Ferraris can make it?Mick pits the Alpine with 49 energy still left. WTF?
The announcers just said they will have to lift/coast. At this point I'm going to have to cheer for Alpine. What a way to go into Lemans! So they’ve leapt up to second ahead of the BMW and the Ferraris, but still need one stop. I think the Ferraris can make it?
Driver of the day for me.Mick really made it interesting at the end.
I am always hoping for more from them. They were never in the big fight up front, but they ran a perfect race (considering what they had) and turned it into a good finish. They just need to find some speed.Really good points days for Cadillac and especially Toyota for not having the ultimate pace this weekend.
Coming in a little under the radar in their own race will be Alpine. They showed race winning speed today, but even at that, most people are going to pick Ferrari. It's the perfect set up for a big upset. Contrasting to the chaos on their F1 side, Alpine looked superb today.I love this track, and what a great race that was. Almost the perfect precursor to Le Mans. Lots of storylines in the buildup to June.
Manufacturer #16 across Hypercar and GTP:
The only problem with the extended agreement is it only goes through 2032. Nothing but good has come from it so far. As long as the Powers That Be continue moving in the same direction, prioritizing the sport over lesser silos of interest, we're in for a good long ride.
My guess is if they can get 3 or 4 cars in the first year it would be a success they can build upon. Maybe a couple of Porsches, a BMW, and a Cadillac. The series is currently six 4-hour races and is pretty regional in nature, so I think the expense would be more in procuring the cars themselves than in running costs or logistics.I'm not sure how many privateers will be willing/capable to spend that projected $35 million hyper car budget. Maybe if more LMDH were available that might be a better option.
They are. Hypercar as a class name encompasses both LMH and LMDh regs. Same with GTP.Don't get me wrong. I'de love to see it, but why not let LMDH in as well?
