weight loss news

Trudy is my nurse practitioner, BTW. She is a very important person in my life.

My EKG came back fine. She is starting me on physical therapy to strengthen my legs and improve my balance. I've started my iron pills.

Sorry, I should have put all this in my previous post.

Mr Honcho. You have inspired me. I think I'm down to 306. It's embarrassing to post that.

I'm keeping track on my calender at home. I think it's 306.
I'm keeping track on the calender this time too.Keeps me a little more honest about losing this weight this time. You can do it Lisa.I think us posting about this helps eachother too?

My 254 is my Pre Thanksgiving weight. Now comes the hard part Of breaking thru that plateau and getting into the 40's

Last week at the gym, I had to move the 50lb block on the scale one place to the left. :D I'm now just under 150lbs.

Was 185lbs in late 2015, so I've lost 35 pounds in a little over two years.

Unfortunately, my belly still extends out a little. My main goal is a completely flat belly. Maybe I'm too unrealistic.

Used to do cardio at the gym, but now I just do strength machines. I'm stronger than I used to be.

Well done.

Kudos to you. It is difficult to lose weight. (sigh) If only we could lose weight as quickly as we gain weight .......but that is wishful thinking. ;)

I've been doing PT for my legs and back. I'm so weak and it's frustrating. I'm on my 4th visit so I'll keep fighting the good fight.

I have no idea what I weigh currently. I'm offline until next month.

Heading to see Trudy on Friday.

Ive been to PT for a couple weeks now so I might have gained a little but my legs feel better, my back not so much but I'm still getting stronger. wooooooooo

It's been a rough month. 99.9% of my paycheck last month got me into a cheaper place. $175 cheaper. My tvs off, my cell is off and I have no Internet. It's just been bad. Friday everything should be back on.

See you all on friday.

I'm finally dedicating myself to getting healthy something I've put off for far to long. I'm already diabetic so letting my weight get out of control is terrible for me as is my diet. Starting from today I'm going to do it. Starting out at my current weight of 260 lbs.

Good luck. Like with all hard things it takes a tough mental attitude. Stay strong.

Feb 2nd (I think?) 306 lbs.

Feb 25th, 299 lbs

I'm not sure of total lbs lost. I'll have to figure it up when I get home. About 30 lbs, I'm guessing.

Ps. I have a sinus infection.
Keep it up Lisa. Doesn't matter the speed.... just keep going in the right direction.

You've lost as much weight in only four months as I've lost in two years.

Congrats!

Low carb, Sir. Watch bread, rolls, cereal, white stuff, rice, potatoes, milk.

Drink water, flavor it if you need to. If I want juice, I put some water in it.

Watch fruit intake, only 1 serving a day. 1 serving if nuts a day.

Beans have good carbs, eat them.

If you want something you're not supposed to have, have it. I never keep myself from having a treat.

Yes Lisa, you got it figured out ! Keep pushing.
And the nice thing is you can eat really as much protein
as you want. Just keep an eye on the cholesterol number.
I see skinny jeans in your future!

So I see that I was at 186 lbs on January 8. I have only lost 5 lbs since then, and am 181 lbs now. I've been doing the same intermittent fasting program all along, but weight loss as I get closer to my goal has slowed way, way down. I'm not sure whether to switch something up, or just stick with it and have patience. I've been going for runs more, which is of course much easier after losing most of the extra weight. I want to make that a daily thing, but am trying to work it into my schedule.

Fasting is just about the worst thing you can do to yourself if you're trying to lose weight.

If you go long enough without eating, your body will adapt and burn fewer calories. When you resume eating, your body stores fat in case you fast again.

I appreciate the input, but there is a lot of substantive data now showing benefits of controlled periods of fasting. Not constant starvation, but fasting with breaks in between. I didn't lose the almost 50 lbs doing anything else. I do agree that there is the possibility my body adapted so much to the schedule I was on that it is essentially resisting loss of additional body fat. If I find myself stalled much longer, I probably will try something different for a while.

This is true, what works is constantly tricking you metabolism, varying your intake of calories so that you body's metabolism stays in a constant state of burning not storing.

Reduced intake plus moderate exercise is the correct equation I'm thinking.
I enjoy my beer so I'll cut out a meal before I cut that out. Lol
I find that eliminating snacks.....potato chips and pretzels in particular results in a shrinking waistline for me.
I'm never hungry in the morning and I've never had an egg in my life so I rarely breakfast but I'll brunch and a big meal at night.
It's whatever works for your body.

I'm never hungry in the morning either. It's easy for me to go 16-20 hours between meals. If I eat once or twice a day it's hard for me to eat over 2,700 calories a day which is what I need to maintain my weight
