I heard some post race comments on XM from Denny after his triumph over a 19 YO rookie. Was asked about his participation in the Xfinity race and said something to the effect of "if I wasn't there to race there wouldn't have been as exciting a finish" or something along those lines.

Joe removing the humility from his stable? I hope Daniel doesn't morph into an ass. Carl got out in time.

Without knowing the context it is hard to make a definitive comment but on the surface it sounds like a person full of self importance speaking.
 
I can't believe Cup drivers celebrate these wins anymore. And to think, Hamlin had to rough Byron up to get it.

And at the end of the day, everyone's talking about how impressive Byron was and how mature he was. :XXROFL:
 
Grasping at straws is the only thing going on here. Consider Hamlin in the last few years vs whatever he said prior.

No proof of that. For all we know without the cup guys there we could have had two Xfinity guys battle it out, cause they would have been an Xfinity guy in the spot Denny was in. We don't know either after if what he said is true or not, could be but also couldn't be. We'll never know.

That was clean racing at its best. Don't recall Byron saying anything about being raced dirty. Hamlin and Byron had the closes finish at that track in an Xfinity race and it was damn good. Hamlin is right and without him we dont get that finish and Byron doesn't gain that experience.

The proof is that it did happen and hasn't before. I'll say it again closest Xfinity race ever at Michigan. Without him or Byron that finish doesn't happen.
 
If you are a fan of racing that was one of the best finishes you are going to see all year, enjoy it.

Only place the Gibbers can win is in the lower series this year so they have to make up something.:idunno:

No, Denny is saying that finish wouldn't have happened without him. If someone else was in that spot, or that car even...it COULD have happened.

Denny did it though so he has the right to say without him finishes like that dont happen. One never has so he's not wrong and was speaking the truth as far as he or anyone else knows. Speculate all you want or just enjoy a good finish.

Honestly, I'm done even trying to tell you how that's an opinion. YES it's the first time it happened but it's not a FACT that it couldn't have happened.

Yes, yes you are. How can you prove 100% that Saturday that finish would not have happened without Denny? Don't use the past as a reason, as it's always a first time for everything. You can't PROVE anything to do with how that could have gone.
 
I believe that Denny was following all the rules set forth by Nascar when he entered that event .

Im not trying to though just stating that it did. Take Denny out of the race and Byron wins without that great finish because the 20 car isnt there. You are speculating that someone else in Dennys car could have done that.

No, I'm saying that anyone in that same spot Denny was on that restart could have done it with that exact same move. Just because he is the first to do it doesn't mean anyone couldn't have done it, it doesn't mean it wont happen again also. YOU are speculating that someone else's in Denny's car COULDN'T have done that.
