What races are you planning to go to in 2019

I don't plan to go to any races. It's too expensive. I can just watch on my TV for free.

Good parking.

Ok, so we are doing a NASCAR trip with the boys this fall so for sure the Richmond and Charlotte fall races! Can't wait. Might do Indy and Kentucky too just as trips to make there and back. We are only 2 hours from Indy and about 2.5 hours from the KY race.

I hope I'm not out of line but I have some questions about how to make the most of the weekend say in Charlotte. It will be one of my boys' 10th birthday and he really really wants to get in the garage or somewhere where he can meet the drivers...specifically Kyle Larson, Chase or Joey. My 8 year old and 7 year old would love it too...they are obsessed with NASCAR right now.

Do you have to buy special tix packages to meet drivers, victory lane, garages, ect??? What's the best way of doing this?

Fontana and Sonoma. Can't freaking wait. Call me weird, but my anticipation for these events is the EXACT feeling I had as a little kid waiting for Christmas. Love this stuff.

We go to Fontana and Sonoma every year. This year we will most likely pass on Fontana and we are looking into Richmond. We hit Charlotte 2 years ago. That was a blast.

Anyone going to the spring Martinsville race? I know there were several posters last year that went. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a ticket. I might even get one of the package deals the track is offering right now. The race is less than 2 months away which is crazy. That's why I'm starting to get the wheels turning on putting together the trip. Ironically, it's suppose to snow today where I live...lol...

In my opinion It's never too early to plan a trip, especially a race trip. I started planning our June Sonoma trip back in October. I have 18 of the 19 campgrounds that we'll be staying in reserved and the race tickets bought. The last one wont open for reservations until Feb. 11th.

Martinsville has very favorable ticket prices. I checked out stubhub and everything was still at cost. That might change in a few weeks. I don't mind the track getting my money though. I'm just not dishing out anymore than I need to for a decent seat. Especially when there's plenty of them to choose from.I was also checking out rental car rates (i'll likely take my own car for this trip) and green fees at a few golf courses in the area. Last year I planned on golf at Virginia Tech's course on Saturday then the race on Sunday. Obviously things didn't go as planned.

I'm still on course for Kentucky in July. I can do that trip in my sleep.

I would love to do Atlanta (instead of Martinsville) this year but late February is still really sketchy travel wise. Just a crappy date. Nascar should head immediately west after Daytona then come back east in late March.

You'll want to get pit passes. Yes they cost extra with your tickets. Call the track they will gladly answer your questions just Google whatever track for their phone number.

Take time to study seating charts on the track website and have that info handy when you are chatting with the sales rep. The lady I spoke with when I bought Roval tickets last year was very knowledgeable/helpful about various seating sections in relation to what we would be able to see best.

Our own personal preferences. Normally we like to be close to the start/finish as low down in the stands as I can we can get. At Kentucky I would suggest you get tickets there on start/finish and as close to the action on track as you can. I also always request isle seats because it makes it easier going to concessions or restrooms during the race.

We were a 7 hour drive from Charlotte and we made a 2 day deal out of that. But Charlotte is the center of the Nascar universe and we decided if we ever did it again we'd do it right and make it a 5-7 day vacation to take as much of it in as possible.

Good luck! Your boys are going to love this and they'll never forget. Who knows you may even get lucky and get an autograph from one of their favorite drivers too.

Just bought Bristol Night Race tickets! Not a lot of seats left for those who are waiting to purchase. I'm only a group of two but if you're a group of 4 or 5+ you don't have much selection.

Enjoy the race!! I've wanted to get there for years but....

Bristol ticket prices are still greatly inflated relative to other tracks. I just checked the prices on their website and now that they're in their "white" pricing period only 3 out of 15 sections have tickets under $100. I know this is the night race but that's ridiculous! There's plenty of other night races with much cheaper ticket prices. Kentucky and Richmond immediately come to mind. The Food City 500 prices are basically the same.

I can go to Pocono, Martinsville and Kentucky for less than than 3rd most expensive Bristol ticket.

Oh yes I agree. Most expensive ticket I've bought in 10 years or so, 38 rows up at the end of the backstretch. I can't believe they still charge that much.

February - Twins,Truck and Exfinity races in Daytona, then Atlanta (weather permitting)
July - 400 at Daytona (maybe)
August - BRISTOL NIGHT RACE BABY!

Had to adjust my schedule, going to California on business the week of the 14th Feb. No Daytona for me in February. :(

Oh dear, time to yank one more seat out of Daytona... :)

Probably both Texas Cup races here in Fort Worth with my dad. He moved back from Florida.

It's unlikely I will attend any races outside of Texas this year.

Thank you!! Very helpful post my friend!

I got free hot passes for the Bristol Night race a few years back, watched the first half from the infield, and sat in the grandstands for the entire second half even though I didn't buy a ticket. Incredible experience and it didn't cost me a dime. The tough pill to swallow was the $350/night they charged at a freakin' Super 8 Motel that was 35 minutes from the track

NGOTS World of Westgate 200 @ Las Vegas
NXS DC Solar 300 @ Las Vegas
NMENCS South Point 400 @ Las Vegas

Possibly Sonoma or Phoenix in November

Just got 2 tickets and 2 cold pit passes for $130 through the ticket office at Bristol for next Sunday. Can really get a deal since they are struggling. Seats aren’t the best but from the crowds the last few spring races I’m sure I can just about pick a seat and enjoy.

Good point about the seats. I’m sure a lot of the Martinsville fans last week bought cheaper seats and moved around. Enjoy the race!

It depends on how the tracks do their pricing. I sat in the tun 3/4 Bill France Tower at Martinsville because it was home to the cheapest ticket, $55, regardless of row. Since I purchased my ticket a few weeks before the race I was still able to snag the top row (27) which i love. Like most tracks there was an area behind the seat to put stuff and the view was fantastic!

It would be super easy to move around at Pocono. I still pay the top tier price of $75 to reserve the top row which does fill up. With that said, I could easily buy the $25 lower lever tickets and move up to the top 2/3 of the upper level no problem. I could do this at Kentucky but I'm perfectly happy with the top row in the lower section there. It's much higher than it is at Pocono.

The dirty little secret about modern ticket sites (including stubhub) is it's easy to see what seats didn't sell. As someone who attends quite a few sporting events solo I've learned to take advantage of this in certain situations.

Has anyone been to the Cup Series race in Chicago? Are there usually lots of empty seats in the shaded area underneath the suites I could move up to?

Considering skipping the 2nd Pocono and hitting August Michigan. Never been there before and it's a quick, cheap flight to Detroit from Binghamton NY which is only 40 minute drive from my house.

I sat row 23 behind the start finish and had a decent view. I remember not being able to see the cars when they were on the front stretch though. High in turn 1 or turn 4 may be your best bet.

I got row 30 in the middle of 1-2, for some reason fans flock more to the frontstretch than the turns so I think I have a good chance to move up given it won't loo, can't imagine this r I believe there is a ISMvision screen close & I have a scanner rental. All of this (weekend rental) + GA tickets the other 2 days for $76 ($126 total without my discount, still cheap)

I would go Michigan, but they are changing the Cup package a bit for the next Pocono race + there's Trucks.

It's a real easy drive! I drove out in 2016 to the August Michigan race and to Ann Arbor last fall for a football game. Straight shot out for the most part. I'd say about 8-8.5 hours. I got a rental car for less than $100 for a weekend out of Scranton. I drive out to the Kentucky race as well.

Michigan is an awesome place to watch a race but one, a 400 mile race there can fly by and two, it's not the most competitive racetrack lately. Granted, some would argue the same about Pocono. Especially after last week.
