I think the way rookies and young drivers were from about 1999 to the mid 2000s or so really hurt drivers now. Back in the day, drivers didn't really come in and win to often right away, some did sure, but it wasn't often. Then you had guys come in at the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s or so who just lit the world on fire, and now when you're not winning in like 2-3 years or so, you're labeled as a bust or a failure.

It looks like Chad and Byron did ok at Daytona. Here is a video of the Hendrick chopper picking Chad up at Watkins Glen a few years ago.

You know you are a pretty important asset to a company when they send a chopper to pic you up. You know your time is probably about up when they send an Uber and take it out of your check. 😃
