WNBA

Chicago has many problems, as we've discussed. However, as someone who watched Chicago games this past season until Marina got traded, the first paragraph is false.

They took Kamilla Cardoso out of a game she was dominating so Angel could get her "double double." We all know it happened.

Pretty sure we've been over that already, if it was the game I'm thinking of where Cardoso had to sit because she got into quick foul trouble trying to guard Stewie and JJ and had the same resting neutral facial expression she always has afterwards.

Even if not and you're 100% correct, like I said, it's irrelevant now, a completely moot point. Spoon is gone. They have a new coach who will have his own gameplan.

She's been the best player in Unrivaled the past week or so and it's not even close.

At the end of the day, she's going to put up a "double double" just about every time she's on the court. She's shooting better and making the layups. If she keeps at this, she might be a top-10 WNBA player.

I just can't stand her antics. I'd be fine with them if she didn't take to a microphone to complain about how unfairly she's treated every time she loses, fouls out, gets ejected, or fans taunt her.
Can't argue with any of that. I'm sure she's a good player. I just never liked the athletes who constantly demand attention regardless of their ability. I get it. It pays off. But I don't like it.

All right, Chicago's frontcourt is shrinking. They should be getting Elizabeth Williams back, but they've now lost two of their bigs in free agency.

Isabelle Harrison is another player who I've always had a soft spot for. She just signed with New York, who are obviously as deep as the Grand Canyon. Still, that's a big acquisiton for them after losing Kayla Thornton to Golden State in the expansion draft.

Apparently, Isabelle was previously coached by the Liberty's head coach, Sandy Brondello, so this should be a good fit for her. ^_^

Kristy Wallace has chosen to sit out the 2025 season.

This opens up another roster spot. Would love to see them try to get Marina Mabrey.

Also got the draft right around the corner.

Since Hailey Van Lith is not likely to be taken in the first round, I'd love to see Indiana take her in the second round. Sadly, I don't think she's going to make the cut for any team in the WNBA. Too short and too slow for The W.

I'd rather them find a way to get Mabrey (I don't think the Sun are gonna let her leave though) or Kate Martin.

Poor Kristy is going through some stuff right now. I read somewhere that she lost her stepmom to cancer a few days ago. Dunno if it's true or not, but if it is, I wish her nothing but the best.

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing it, there's no room for Marina in Indy now IMO. She'd get about 5 minutes per game playing behind Caitlin, Kelsey, DB, Lexie, and Sophie. Plus, like you said, I don't think the Sun are too keen on letting her go right now. Indy would have to give up something to get her, and now that the superteam has been assembled, I'm not sure who they could part with that would leave them better off, even if Connecticut was willing to do a deal.

Indiana assembled the ****** Avengers.

I wish Indiana Fever basketball began tonight. I can't wait to watch America's Girls play ball. Especially now that the Fever got DeWanna Bonner, Spicy Sophie and Natasha Howard in there with Aayliah Boston to put an end to hack-a-Caitlin forever.

It'll surely take them some time to build chemistry, but if they manage to do that and stay healthy, look out.

Chicago's home games against America's Team have been moved to "The House that Jordan Built."

So Angel can't force the move but Caitlin can. Just thought I'd point out the obvious.
And also keep in mind that Chicago is one of the most populated Cities in the U.S.

As much as the media says “and Angel Reese,” and all the magazine covers she’s on, you’d think she’d actually have people going to games to see her.

Caitlin Clark “and Angel Reese” aren’t moving the needle. Caitlin Clark IS the needle.

Has the schedule been released yet for which tv networks, etc will be televising the Fever games in 2025

Nothing to see here, really, just Tasha Cloud keeping it real about the fleeting nature of professional sports and being traded from Phoenix to Connecticut. I quickly grew to like her this past season and hope she and Marina both end up in good basketball situations sooner rather than later.

Finding out on social media would be the part that pisses me off.

Angel: “We deserve more… if y’all don’t give us what we want… we sitting out.”

Hope it's not too bad.

If she keeps reinjuring the same wrist, her career could be cut very short.

Do they let players wear wrist protection in The W? I know they're generally not permitted at the high school level.

This is one of the unfortunate downsides of these ladies having to play basketball pretty much all year round, whether they're in the States or overseas - the additional risk of injuries. Hopefully that'll change someday and they'll all get paid well enough to enjoy a proper offseason.

I can’t recall ever seeing pro basketball players wearing anything more than wristbands on their wrists (or those arm sleeves), but that's also not something that I've ever paid much attention to. Wrist injuries are tough in basketball, just because you obviously use your wrist for so much. I feel like players usually have to just rest whenever that happens, if the injury is bad enough.
