The schedule has been released. There are some cool additions (Kokomo, I-70) and omissions (Placerville, Haubstadt put on great shows, but I won't miss Las Vegas or the Nashville experiment TBH).

 
Nice to see Bridgeport back on again, will be a new track from last year though they shut down the 5/8 and 3/8 and are making it a half mile.
 
I'm very surprised Vegas is gone, but the track has so many ruts and it's not the raceist.

1 less spring Charlotte race too. Less races at the SMI tracks I notice.

James McFadden will be back with KKR for 50 or so races in 2020, similar to last year mostly WoO but also ASCOC and bigger races. I'm happy for him but was really hoping Kasey would be back behind the wheel. I'm starting to wonder if he has decided to hang it up completely.
 
Glad to see McFadden back, he showed considerable promise. Having Kahne around is fun, but frankly the chances of him running as well as McFadden was are slim to none.

I saw somewhere, a quote from one of the heads of the series, can't remember where, or who. May have been a quote from their "open red" podcast, that Nashville is to be an every other year event and would return in 2021. I wanted to go check that out, looked pretty cool. It sounded like the first night was a **** show, but the second night was good. They got good crowds and made money anyway, so i wont be surprised if they are back. Though with the previous lease holder out now, who knows if they will be able to work a deal out for 2021...
 


This is cool. I would have paid $10-$15 more monthly to watch the late models too, but I wasn't going to pay another $40 for it, especially when they're often racing at the same time. Now the $40 per month gets you both.

Note the language:

Once designed, engine builders will be able to purchase TRD-sourced castings to build customer engines. The castings will be available in late 2020 in advance of the 2021 season. The aluminum block engine will meet the World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions, USAC and other sprint car series rules, both in 410ci and 360ci displacements.

This approach, if it isn't just talk, would differ from TRD's approach in other arenas, where they only partner with one or two organizations and have a closed development process. This makes it sound like they simply want to sell to existing engine builders etc. Will be interesting to watch it develop.

Yep, it doesn't feel like there was any off-season at all, which is fine by me. The DirTVision Fast Pass is now $39 for both sprints and late models, so I'll be watching.

Tuned in tonight and Matt Crafton is racing a modified this weekend in the USRA mods that are running as the support class.

I don't think you will see Kasey back in the seat of a sprint car. That was a much nastier ride than anyone first thought. Pictures of the CJB/ Brent Marks should be starting to show up soon, unless they wait to unveil till Ocala. I'm in Florida now and it's cold, but I'm still looking at a return flight next month for East Bay.
 
Lifetime dirt sprint driver, track owner, WoO driver/organizer. Some who have been around the dirt racing scene awhile will recognize the name.

I have gone every year the All Stars and WOO have run together at Volusia. I don't know if these guys are using the All Star races as practice and experimenting, but come the WOO race they are on their game.

Schuchart had it until late, and said in his interview that Schatz just outsmarted him. Really good racing everywhere tonight in the dirt world. This, USAC, and Lucas Oil late models.
 
Ian Madsen apparently took a wild ride but is in the ambulance under his own power.
 
Long delay because of this.



Honestly I would say that isn't Sweet's best moment. He's a clean racer, but I think he forced it a bit there, and I wouldn't call that a complete slider. Turns 1 and 2 are really one lane tonight, nobody is going anywhere if they stray from the cushion. Tough racing incident, very relieved that Madsen is OK.
 
Sweet wins, McFadden second, Pittman third. Schuchart took a provisional and went 25th to 5th. Larson had come from 19th to 4th before a late flat tire. Schatz was 6th. The track was racier after the red flag and it started breaking down.

Madsen blocked Sweet in the first turn of the first lap.
 
Madsen took responsibility, which is very honorable. I thought Sweet either needed to get up the cushion earlier or leave him a lane, but I guess not.

That could have been terrible, just very thankful he's fine and will be back tomorrow.
