World of Outlaws 2021

Looked like they were all racing for second tonight at Williams Grove, as Larson wins the dash to start on the pole and then leads all 25 laps. Larson did have one major bobble on the cushion that allowed Schuchart to nearly pass him, but he recovered and the timing of cautions played in his favor. Schuchart was strong, but not strong enough. Tomorrow is the $75,000 to win National Open.

Sweet struggled all night, and Gravel looked poised to pick up points, but broke late in the race while running 9th.

Brent Marks is the early leader in the National Open, then spins out when he is lapping one car and doesn't see another coming. Rough mistake and break for him. Logan Schuchart inherits the lead.
 
Fantastic race with Carson Macedo passing Logan Schuchart with four laps to go to win. Macedo and Haudencshild were trading banzai sliders for second before that.

Thrilling finish at Port Royal with Kerry Madsen barely holding on at the line over a charging Lance Dewease. It is impressive to see Madsen jump back in the #14 and hold off both Donny Schatz in the full time TSR car early, then Dewease late. Schatz faded to fourth, Macri gets third.

Spencer Bayston wins night #2 at Port Royal in the CJB car. They will be full-timers with WoO next year. David Gravel finishes second and Donny Schatz third.
 
Gio Scelzi steals the lead from Kerry Madsen on late restart and wins at Lakeside. Good racing in the feature after the track was lightning fast but narrow early.

It appears that Reutzel is now the TRD driver running their new 410 engines that are still in development. Earlier this season it was Gio Scelzi, but they apparently fell out of favor with Toyota because they weren't willing to run the engine in all races.

Caution free at Lawton for 35 laps with Carson Macedo torching the field and winning by over five seconds for his eleventh series win of the year. They will be at Devil's Bowl Speedway tomorrow night.

Not sure of the points at the moment but if Brad Sweet is up 96 he has clinched the title

Johnny Gibson said after the race that at this point all the #49 has to do is present the car for qualifying on Thursday, and he will have clinched it.

Sweet will become just the 4th driver in Outlaws history with 3 or more championships. Kinser, Schatz, Swindell, Sweet...pretty good company. Though Brad is way behind on career win totals
 
Welp, today's World of Outlaws event got cancelled. It rained til like 3PM and by that time, the dirt track was far too gone.

Hopefully cars will be on the track tomorrow at 3pm.

I would say the Charlotte track is holding up better this year given the amount of racing between all three classes.

David Gravel takes the win tonight after inheriting the lead from Logan Schuchart, who appeared to be the class of the field but suffered a flat left rear with 12 laps to go. Kerry Madsen charges to take second on the final lap over Brian Brown.

For the second straight day, Logan Schuchart suffers a flat tire whlle running away with the race. Brent Marks wins instead, with a surprise Brock Zearfoss in second, and Donny Schatz coming from a provisional starting spot to finish third.

4 days of racing next year for the finals. Three days of feature racing. Other than being a bit chilly, we really enjoyed the show this year.

The track surface was much, much better.
