Makes sense at that time given the post Sr. culture of fear. That is so far removed 20 years later it's comical. Now the wrecks are more important than the actual racing imo. These will get huge hits on social media and espn/local news due to the awesome highlights!

Big ones at Daytona or Talladega were hit or miss back in the day. Either way, they were never embraced like they are today.
