that isn't the only car..there are at least 4 of them S.O.B.'s in the series running for the manufacturer points which I have been told is worth millions to the winner. Some of them are called the All Star car..yeah right. Just look for the ones running cup drivers every race. Gibbs has two of em, Childress one for sure Penske has the one.So is the 22 car full time with sponsors that say who drives it. Lets just shut the team down. The Xfinity series is so great they can stand on their own two feet just like ARCA does.
Isn't the points leader basically running Cup equipment?

I agree, if any of the cup drivers were to win in xFinity competition, I think Brad would be the best bet.Brad Keselowski is a freaking great mentor to younger drivers.
You always see him talking to the Xfinity or Truck guys if they best him or he goes and talk to them. Its becoming hard not to root for Brad.
works much better for me when a driver like Bell because of his recent win in the trucks was given a few races in Xfinity to increase his learning curve and see if he is good enough to race at that level. But like Johali I also think force feeding and taking points and money away using full time cup drivers in the lower series is B.S. Like many of Nascar's older practices times change and they need to be reexamined..especially when they come up with "Names are made here" that is like a slap in the face if ya ask me. Denny Hamlin or Kyle Dam Busch or Brad Keselowski didn't make a name today.Im enjoying the conversation.
I understand not liking the Cup drivers in the series but without them these kids are not getting the development they need to race the Cup drivers on Sundays when they get the chance.
I don't like the Cup drivers dominating the Xfinity Series, but I understand why they're there. The name recognition probably does help with ticket sales, viewership, sponsorship, etc. It's a shame because the series would probably be much better without them (today's finish was an exception and not the norm), but it also probably wouldn't be sustainable without them.
I would agree that the average race fan today is more savvy than the bandwagoners of 15-20 years ago who checked out the sport for a little while and then bolted. I'd be all for a Cup-less Xfinity series, I just have my doubts about if it would work. How do you know until you at least try? Times have changed. IMO today's racing fan is way more savvy than years ago when it was full of me too's

Great minds think alike. So do ours.Goodness sake, we are of one mind, Yoda. You'd think we were from the same state or something.
Yup that fits, no longer of any significance at the cup level which is what I was saying.a person or thing considered to be outmoded or no longer of any significance.
Which is derogatory as I said. A more appropriate way of saying it is ex Cup driver not has been.Yup that fits, no longer of any significance at the cup level which is what I was saying.
Thanks for explaining it to others.
Are you suggesting that those cup team cars be removed from Xfinity or just change the drivers? The 22 team is gone without the cup drivers according to Roger.I would agree that the average race fan today is more savvy than the bandwagoners of 15-20 years ago who checked out the sport for a little while and then bolted. NahTake out the cup drivers and you don't have any races for anybody.
I am not here to quibble about terminology. We come from different countries and say things different. I am old enough to remember certain words used for 50 years but are now not acceptable as they may injure some persons mind. I guess it is because I had a deprived childhood. I started a foot race in grade two, tripped and fell and everyone got a medalWhich is derogatory as I said. A more appropriate way of saying it is ex Cup driver not has been.
They dont lose points or money?Thay dont lose points or money. Byron will get 2nd place points and money because thats where he finished. Kid had a chance but lost the race, he'll know better next time.
That is literally the entire point of this series, to make their names here.with no names in it.

accept me. So you can see your upsetting me.
If the whole point of this series is for young drivers "to learn from the cuppers" (which is a bs talking point type excuse) then the cup drivers should have a base winnings & the position points & winnings should be awarded without the cuppers in mind.
For example today, Byron collects 1st place points and monies, Sadler collects 2nd place points and monies, etc... and the cuppers take home base amount of monies no matter their performance.
Just wait 'til ole Sam Hornish, Junior gets in there.
What's the point?
what is that supposed to mean?See Sadler learnin' from the "cuppers."
what is that supposed to mean?
It would work on tracks that aren't hosting a Cup race. My thoughts on this and always have been, put the Xfinity and Trucks together separate from Cup. On some shorter and different venues than Cup runs at. A few races with Cup would be ok...Daytona, Charlotte, maybe a couple other tracks. I think the two lower series running at 1/2 mile to 1.5 mile tracks would work, maybe even in conjunction with Whelen Tour or Southwest series.I would agree that the average race fan today is more savvy than the bandwagoners of 15-20 years ago who checked out the sport for a little while and then bolted. apparently that wasn't it. I don't do passive aggressive very wellHe was a cup driver as well at one point.
I completely agree with this.It would work on tracks that aren't hosting a Cup race. My thoughts on this and always have been, put the Xfinity and Trucks together separate from Cup. Send the trucks & xfin series to several home short tracks with the local driver's race as openers.I completely agree with this.
Yup that fits, no longer of any significance at the cup level which is what I was saying.

LOL, umm, ARCA is racing at Madison Intl Raceway next weekend, and ARCA does not race at Sonoma.Petty sure ARCA will have a few Cup drivers next week at Sonoma.
