Xfinity RACE thread --- Michigan

Was there yesterday, had a great time... still say the tix price needs to be dropped. I will consider my options for days at the track... I put a lot of effort into making it a full day when I head out, but 45.00/adult at the ticket window to be crammed into one of 7 or 8 open sections of the entire MIS grandstands is a pill to think about... saw some of my favorite seats just reflecting sunshine all day in those other 30 to 40 blocked off sections.

With that said... it was still a fun race. Crowd was really into things especially after that first corner. Been a minute since I was at a race where everyone had such a passionate response to something. Been years...

Cup drivers are truly needed in this series. Would have been huge for Byron had he won and still is although he lost. Doing that against a Xfinity regular just wouldn't mean as much.
Please...that argument is old and very outdated. Cuppers need to go, this series should be all about developmental drivers, the rules and tracks need to be changed and this series will stand alone and be fine.

The Cup drivers are diluting and making a mockery of the series by taking wins, playoff points and prize money away from the teams running for the championship.
This part is true, no driver gets a win if a cupper does and the points in the championship will equal out as those that win a race will get them. If you don't win you don't deserve those points. If cuppers win every race, all is even.

I see Sadler more as a journeyman driver that never established himself in the top series but is OK in the minors.
Go back and look at Sadler's career. He won with the Wood Bros., drove for Robert Yates. He always wanted the money so he never filled a contract and in the end he blackballed himself from getting another Cup ride.

I've been a fan of Elliott's for a while and was never aware of that.

How exactly did he do that ?

Truck race last night was a prime example of why this is bullsh1t

I don't know if it was a blackball as much as performance. Sadler' last full season in Cup was 2010, at that time he had 3 Cup wins in 12 seasons and none since 2004, so nobody on the Cup side was really knocking down his door after that season. Xfinity (then Nationwide) provided a better opportunity for him at that time.

Sadler was a top 20 to 25th driver whoever he drove for in cup 10, 11 years worth. IMO there are plenty of top 20, 25 drivers around for cup racing. He went full time in Xfinity in 2011 and he has been top 5 or better every year except 2015 when he finished 6th.

Unlike Hornish jr. I believe Sadler knows he isn't good enough for cup, IMO Hornish could be a real contender in Xfinity if he got his mind right.
