Xfinity RACE thread --- Phoenix

Dillon is a POS for wrecking an Xfinity regular.

Granted I hate Dillon anyway but when you're running a series for fun and someone else is for points, don't crash into them under a caution. Bitch move but I guess Austin is frustrated that he isn't competitive at the Cup level.

He was in the chase last year, he's no slouch.

Austin has really turned up the wick in terms of intensity. I thought Ty was the intense one, but damn Austin is a bill-headed SOB.

At the moment he’s “turned it up” to 24th.

In a system rewarding nearly half of the individuals starting all 36 events, or securing a spot under special circumstances, the older Dillon scored 14th of 16 last season. The two he finished ahead of were “special circumstances” cases.

The boy “turned it up” – no doubt. And, he’s as good as he’s ever going to be.

Great race. Proof of what happens with the focus on Xfinity regulars.

Agreed. Hopefully NASCAR tightens the Cup rule to any full time driver with 3 or more seasons of experience only allowed to run 7 NXS races & 5 NCWTS races.Ban all full time Cup drivers from Dash for Cash races in the future, and add Gateway, Memphis back on the schedule hopefully eventually.

I thought it was a good race. There was a lot more passing than at Atlanta. I'm not going to get all wound up about who ran into who. That stuff happens every race.

Either ban all cup points eligible drivers or lift the restrictions.

For many it sounds like the rules should be tailored to allow for the celebrities but not the drivers they don’t care for.

No further penalty for Austin Dillons wait for and cheap shot on Custer.
Hmmmmm. Boys have at it, I guess.

That's a good call. Other drivers who have done the exact same thing have not been fined. Dale Jr wasn't. Kasey Kahne wasn't. Brian Vickers wasn't. Denny Hamlin (who did it twice as a cup regular hitting an Xfinity/Nationwide driver, coincidentally one of those was Austin Dillon) wasn't. Quite a few others weren't.

Wow, I guess I forgot. I thought the shenanigans under a caution flag were penalized. Come
to think of it , maybe that's for pit road.
Oh well, business as usual then.

I'd like to see a cup race at Gateway, and now that tracks don't need 120,000 seats to have a cup race, it's possible to do it

I'd like to see one of Kansas's races go to Gateway. But as usual, Kansas is an ISC track that just built a casino on the backstretch so it's not going away anytime soon.
