A lot better ride for Ross than he normally has in Xfinity and or trucks (which I feel is intentional to help that team out and possibly even just likes the challenge)

He will rely on information and recommendations
from the race engineers … exactly what Mardy Lindley does.

Junior is over-qualified for this assignment.

Eh, I think it would be beneficial to have someone who has actually raced Pocono a few times calling shots for a new driver. Foolish to think he is going to be a bump on a log.
What does Dale know about calling a race at Pocono? He's going to sit there and do whatever the engineers tell him to do

He’s not driving the car. If it’s out of balance, his team will recommend a fix or fixes for that.
The laws of physics will continue to influence this car as they did earlier versions.

In the booth, he often makes comments on various strategies being employed by competing team leaders.

I think he’ll do well.

Hypothetical question. Say the #88 has another lug nut issue with Jr. on the box for a one-off. Would suspending him have any deterrent effect when he wouldn't be returning anyway?

Huh? It's an Xfinity car. He was a 2 time champion in Xfinity 26 wins. That aside, he is working with a driver who has never raced the track. What he can tell him about the track and the racing there will be invaluable.

Weren't they still 6 cylinders when he ran Busch grand national?

The other crew chief would be back I would assume. He only had a one race suspension. I think they did JRM a favor getting Jr and Z together. Zilisch hasn't raced the track. I think he will be in the top 5 myself. Could be a power move by JRM.

Agreed, but does that mean a team led by Jr. has nothing to lose and can save time with two loose lugs on each of three wheels? If Jr. is not getting back on the box, a suspension would mean nothing to him.

This is strictly hypothetical. I'm sure Jr. has no plans to do any such things, or any other fill-in crew chief. But it appears the penalty would have no deterrent effect on a substitute teacher.

Cheat? you talking cheating here? lol. I'm not too sure having loose lugs at Pocono is a good thing.

What favor? What additional insight can Jr give being listed as the CC this week that he couldn't any other week as the team owner? It's not like anyone is keeping him from data, sitting on the pit box and talking to his drivers every other week.

If Connor tells him what the car is doing, I believe Jr will be able to figure it out.
