Ah, now Chicago cares. Doesn't it? I'll get Capone and see if he cares. Maybe Nitty cares. Ness? The Fridge? Someone...anyone!

Hey, I wasn't around during that time. When I moved to the Quad Cities along the Mississippi River, I started watching the Cubs. They were perienial losers (still are) and I hated Jack Brickhouse, the announcer. I turned the TV to the other Chicago channel and began to watch the White Sox with Harry Carey and Jimmy Pearsol as the announcers. I loved those two and when Harry left for the Cubs, I stayed. BTW, when I was but a lad, I liked the Milwaukee Braves and the New York Yankees. My mother was a die hard Brooklyn Dodger fan.

I have a question. Could someone please tell me......... What is the true purpose of owning a gun such as an Uzi, an AK47, etc... which are both assault rifles by the general definition that has been posted on here and as the government has labeled them.
I can understand if someone has a gun collection, for the sole purpose of collecting guns. Other than that, as I asked above, what is the true purpose of owning one of these guns?
(This is an honest question)
Judas, I used to own a Tommy Gun, but that was well before the regulations changed. Fired it once (with supervision by an expert). I thought the recoil had broken my shoulder. I gave it to the expert and never saw it again.Originally posted by judas1

Nothing personal, but Oprah's opinions on this or anything else are of no concern to me. She's more of the problem in this country than the solution. And not just her...all of them. But her more than most.
Our media is decidedly anti-personal rights. It is much easier to be a liberal. You don't have to have any original thoughts. You just listen to whatever talking head you see on the news and repeat what they said. Don't think about the cosequences of freedoms lost, they won't matter next week when we are onto a different soapbox anyway. Very short-sighted, but easy.Originally posted by mngopherguy
Who do you mean by them? Media? Just curious.

I gotta agree with Smack here. Besides the print meida here was very 50/50 on who they supported. The TV media was pro Republican.
