Dodge?

Huge. Love it.

A hand up coming for the "Zombie Dodges"?

This may be my favorite news this Silly Season.

No surprise here but it doesn't matter to me if Nascar has 1 manufacturer or 15 as there is no differentiation from where I sit.

Great news. Obviously theyed have to get some teams lined up. Not a lot of top teams that would switch but you never know, maybe Petty or Ganassi could go to Dodge. They could go the Toyota rout and have a slow return and start in the Xfinity and Truck series for a few years before moving to Cup.

It'd be great if NASCAR could get some more manufacturer dollars in the sport, bring back a big-time brand, and see the Charger back on the track.
Good luck on getting Fiat to pony up any dollars........ They are the most tight assed company you have ever encountered......... Self-centered B@@tards..... they care about no one but their selves....... I wouldn't buy a Fiat product if my life depended on it...... Charger ain't Chrysler anymore........ it's Fiat.........

Did you read the quotes from Marchionne? Sounds like they are ready to commit.

Mar-whatever is interested now that Monster's involved.....................

It'd tickle the snot outta me.

Richard Petty and Roger Penske are probably ready to do backflips, if true.
Richard and Roger are smart enough to know that it ain't the old Dodge that they knew..... this is the new''Fiat'' Dodge that has no resemblance of the ''old'' company that they knew and had a relationship with.. .........The ''new '' Dodge is Italian through and through ....... good luck negotiating with them.......

I guess FCA possibly returning is a good thing, to bad it wont be with that sexy Gen6 2013 Charger, its a damn shame we never go to see that on the track in 2013.

Here's the chance to make the street version closely resemble the NASCAR Spec Car. Dodge would have 36 to 40 cars closely resemebling what they have sitting in their showroom! If they are crap now, that I can't tell you, but it would definately be a major coup!

I bet there is fire with this smoke this time. I had a private discussion with a member of Allpar who has since passed, and he told me then that if he had to bet he would guess Dodge would come back if and when Penske could lead the effort. It would explain the other company's effort to add Stewart-Haas, and frankly SHR's willingness to leave their comfy situation. Have heard rumors out of the Petty camp that they are looking to leave their current situation as well and it almost landed them in court. Add to this that we have had branded Dodges in Xfinity racing even though it was not official it makes the smoke a little thicker.

I wonder if Ganassi would consider a return to Dodge? I believe the only reason they went to Chevy was because of the merger with DEI.

I take it from your 2 posts in this thread you are not a fan of fiat or Italians. It's probably caused the quality of the vehicles to improve.
Lol

Ralph Gilles ran SRT before the Fiat merger and still does. Their performance division is not run by Italians.

Hi, new guy. MInd if I ask what gives you access to all this info? Nothing proprietary or confidential, mind you, just some generalizations so we'll know where you're coming from.

Thanks, and welcome!

I just read the snipet on Jayski.
One MAJOR take away from the article. Sergio had dinner with JIM and LESA! No mention of BF whatsoever!
Maybe those 2 can just keep the brain out of the loop!

Me, too.

One wonders why they're interested in a dying race series.

Obviously there marketing people are stupid.

Cadaract is the brand that should sign on, old man and old mans car. Just to old to read the obvious signs, or the RF empiricals learnings that's posted on a daily basis.

Some people you just can't help

Well sh*t, I guess I'll have to hold off on the new white 'n blue ford fusion for a little while...

I think this might be a couple years til fruition but say example if they moved back into NASCAR last I heard atleast from @Team Penske. Penske was under contract with Ford through 2022.

So if anybody would go I think it would be minor teams like
RPM
BK
FRM

Well, then I love my Fiat Charger.

This was posted in an article 'The Drive" ( I guess a part of Yahoo) about this current issue, interesting none the less

"The only other manufacturer to have shown recent interest in NASCAR is Volkswagen, and that was before the diesel crisis. VW presented NASCAR head Brian France with a list of requests, and while most of them could be met, VW found a few sticking points that could not be resolved. They would have raced the VW Passat."

While correct, it still is a part of FCA ,so I wouldnt be a bit surprised if there was a bit of micromanaging going on from the Italians.

For everyone saying how much they would love more manufacturers involved in NASCAR, would you be saying the same thing if Nissan, for example, was the headline rather than Dodge? Just curious.
