Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I've seen some strange things happening at 'Dega. Very strange things.
I think the most memorable was the guy driving a pickup with 4 or 5 buddies in riding in the bed. Strange, you ask.
Yeah, considering they had a blazing fire going in the bed of the truck --- no grill or portable fire pit, just an open fire on the floor of the bed.
Never heard if it blew up, though.
Yep, that's Dega alright.

NASCAR planning to mandate standard pit gun beginning in 2018
Over the last few years, race teams have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into developing pit guns that help gain valuable time for tire changers.

But that will change next year. Two people with knowledge of the situation told JeffGluck.com on Monday that NASCAR is planning to move to a standard pit gun — manufactured by Paoli — starting in 2018.

That means teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, which was known for its pit gun development, will lose a potential advantage next season.

Hey ... Makar! Time to get right to work on the bottles, valves, regulators and air-hoses.

Science never sleeps.
Daytona Beach Fl
NASCAR announces new rules for 2019 season, teams must use off the shelf air hoses, nitrogen bottles, valves , Warren G's Regulate and air house.

Jokes aside, yes, you darn well know teams are probably already working on those items for next year.

Watching Monday's RaceHub with Chad Knaus and Harvick , I can reallly see those two being the next driver/CC booth combo sometime in the future .

I forgot the name of the show, but Chad and Bootie used to do something together. It was always interesting to watch them.

It was a technical show for NASCAR on SPEED , Larry Mac was a part of it too I think , I never watched it so I could be wrong

In my opinion the best out there is Eddie D'Hondt who was Jeff Gordon's spotter and is now Chase Elliotts.
I really hope they keep the trio of Chase, Alan, and Eddie together for a long time. They are on the verge of doing great things.

Why would SHR not send Harvick instead of Busch? That seems odd to me.

You're right. There's a couple of others that don't make sense either but who knows what they're thinking. Bayne instead of Stenhouse, Hamlin instead of kybu?

I haven't seen or heard of Drew Herring in a long time.

I'm probably wrong but last season, didn't they exclude drivers from testing Homestead if they were involved in the Chase? I'm too lazy to look it up but I thought someone else may remember.

Nascar make's so many rule changes that trying to keep up with them would burn up a couple of my last three brain cells and that wouldn't be good.

Learn something everyday. I didn't know manufacturers had their own on track testing schedules.

I am going to make a guess and say Bush is testing rather than Harvick because he is better
giving feedback. Harvick said this when he was at RCR and Bush was affiliated. Harvick said they were running better because Kurt did a great job at giving feedback whenever the CC made changes.

Crazy season for the 48. Guy has 3 wins and 2 Top 10s the first 13 races of the year, then completely falls off with only 2 Top 10s since. Thought he was going to have a big season

all that matters is getting to the final four and winning these days, the rest of it is pretty much season hype, and that goes for all of them. You do get more money for winning, but a guy like 7 time or the 48 team needing more money? Ah maybe so, but I don't think that is their motivation when it comes to that bunch..it is win the cup or the hell with it IMO. They have won more than enough trophies. JJ was right up there at the top at Dega with a beat up ride until he got took out by others. He's in the game.

Jamie Little on race hub, excellent reportage.

Don't agree at all. These guys are grinding to win every race, that's what makes em great
