Not too early to start this because a blockbuster trade just took place, Alex Smith to the Redskins.

Kirk Cousins gonna get paid #dolladollabill
 
So I wonder where Cousins ends up now? The thought before last year was that he'd end up in San Francisco, but Garoppolo put a stop to that.

On a different topic since we're talking 2018-19, I think Mike Vrabel just got himself two pretty good coordinators, hiring Ravens DC Dean Pees and Rams OC Mike LaFleur for the same positions with the Titans. LaFleur really turned the Rams offense around, hopefully he can do the same in Tennessee.
 
Alex Smith has always been one of my favorite players. He's been unfairly trashed and under appreciated by fans for most of his career. He's a really smart dude, he's accurate, he can run, and he's tough as nails. Great leader, great teammate. I think he's a top 10 QB, and an upgrade over Cousins. But I'm kind of surprised at what they gave up to get him. I understand giving up a pick and giving him a big money extension, but they also gave up one of their best young players (Fuller).

I'm very curious to see what the Browns do this offseason. I love the new GM (Dorsey) and the guys he brought with him to the front office. They have a boatload of picks and cap space, and I'm confident they finally have the right guys in place to pick the right players. For a fan of a team that is 1-31 in the past two seasons, I'm about as excited as you can be :D

Cleveland's amassing a hell of a coaching staff. I wouldn't be surprised if they get Cousins either.

If Cousins wants to win a Super Bowl, he'll go to Jacksonville. If he wants to get paid, he'll go to Cleveland.
 
Somebody give me some storylines to look into that may create any interest for me in the Superbowl .

All I got now is the Eagle 2nd string qb for the Eagles. That's it.

Three pretty important Super Bowls happened on this day in history...

30 years ago today:

QB Doug Williams throws 4 TD passes....in one quarter....to propel the Redskins to a 42-10 rout of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII. Williams also became the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl.

25 years ago today:

The Dallas Cowboys win the first of their three Super Bowls in the 90's, as the Cowboys rip the Bills 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII. The Bills became the first team to lose three consecutive Super Bowls.

19 years ago today:

The Denver Broncos win their second straight Super Bowl, 34-19 over the Atlanta Falcons in what would turn out to be John Elway's final game.
 
If what I read is true the Jags are sticking with Bortles, the Browns are drafting someone and the Vikes and Bills dunno what is happening yet. For some reason the Skins think signing a QB 4 years older then Cousins is a good idea and remember last year the Skins had no wide receivers. Smith will be running for his life in DC next year.

I'm not so sure Cousins is an upgrade from Bortles. But the Redskins suck so there's that. Bortles did really well against Pittsburgh and New England without his best receiver.

I think Jax is way smarter to stay with Bortles and develop another QB instead of overpaying for and older guy that may or may not help. Run the ball good and set up some play action and play stout defense. Jax is a up and comer for sure.

Why would KC get rid of a good QB? What are they going to do now for a QB?

Risky, but they could be trying the approach seattle took a few years ago. Took a chance on a rookie qb with a small salary and spent money elsewhere on the team that would normally be spent on a QB. When it was time for that first big contract with the QB, they adjusted their approach.

Their backup quarterback is supposedly very solid and I'm not sure Kansas was going any farther with Smith as their guy, they've been one and done in the playoffs for years so they had to do something. Kansas City got Kendall Fuller too.

Washington got hosed.

Not every team runs with the idea that their 40 year old qb will be good forever and trade the backup.

Pat's will either trade or draft another QB. Trading Smith at a point in his career when he is very good makes no sense, especially since KC will be even worse without him.

They went 11-5 with Matt freakin Cassel. They will never have a losing record as long as Belichick is there, regardless of the QB.

Brady has five more years in him. Honestly, at age 40, he's playing better than ever. He just engineered another improbable comeback victory against the best defense in the NFL a couple weeks ago. Brady might still be winning Super Bowls when he's 46.

There's plenty of time for New England to groom his replacement.
