It’s terrible and it's blocking not racing.

It’s cool a couple times a year. Watching runs work is fun. The hack wrecks and other byproducts suck. Plates belong at only two tracks though. ****** two.

He’s actually into the yellow line there. It’s ANY part of the yellow line.
darling of the stick n ball threads and he doesn't know where the out of bounds line starts :D:D:D
10.8.3c states "...when the vehicle's left side tires are beneath the left line of the inside double yellow lines that separates the apron from the racing surface while passing another vehicle."

Emphasis is mine.

The camera makes it look like they are coming to the line on a straight a way, nothing is further from the truth. It looked like Haley's car was darting sideways, but the reality was he was cutting the corner

your definitely right FL but watching Haley pass, he put it under both of them when he passed them. He started cutting the corner at the 45 second mark in the yellow and by 47 seconds he was way under the line and he wasn't close to finishing his pass.

You guys agree with every other rule that creates mob pack racing but you got a problem with the yellow line rule.
I don't, I haven't liked plate racing ever since they started it. Depending on others to go fast is not racing. Pulling out of line and dropping like a rock is not racing. Waiting for the "big one" is not racing, and on and on and on. Rant off....:D

I hate plate racing. I usually do not watch.
The most exciting part for me now is the crash.

But here ya are. :D

Well, here’s to hoping that NASCAR gives Chase
Fail inspection: “Give us some points and you can keep the trophy”

Avoid a potential wreck by moving slightly below the yellow line and winning by way more than the “advantage” earned you: “No flag for you except the black one”

This is ticky tacky as ****. This wasn’t the entrance of 3, it was the exit of 4

100% THIS. Watch yourself, DUN24. We can’t have that kind of rational logic here in NASCAR land...

Didn't get to watch the race, but I just finished watching the final lap. The rule sucks, but it's there and you have to follow it. It looked like Justin had plenty of room between Sadler and the yellow line. Not sure why he went down so far, but oh well. He'll know for next time that if you want to win, you have to be willing to make contact and cause a huge crash in the process.

So you’ve been arguing all night about a form of racing you hate and do not watch about a sport you supposedly do not watch.

Good job screenshotting the moment before he actually went below the line tho :XXROFL:

I agree it sucks.. he should have won.. but he didn't need to go down there and he did.

But to try to claim he didn't.. well that's just false.

He's still the winner in my books. Although.. I don't have books :lol2:

The argument isnt that “he did not go below the line”. Read.

The argument is that he was already in P1 before going below the line, therefore not passing while he was below the line. The call was botched.

The rule is also bogus because it does not take in context as to why the driver goes below the line. In this instance Haley dipped below the line at the exact moment he saw Sadler come down. No way of knowing if Sadler was going to wreck into him or hold it straight. Pure driver instinct and reaction. To get penalized for that is just plain stupid.

It is one of these chicken or the egg calls around here..some want to say he already had the position when he went under the lines, others want to say include the whole pass from start to finish he went out (improving position).

Let's all admit that the yellow line rule is one of those dumb NASCAR interpretation rules that will always be changed by NASCAR. It's open for dicretionary " interpretation". Another reason to not like NASCAR in my opinion. Newbies see this and are like wtf. Let's hope this happens tonight, if it does I bet the call will be different if it's Jimmy Johnson going Bellow the yellow line;)
