Haley is a good kid and a wheelman, thank god he got a Trucks win this season. Only thing that makes this better then the Brennan Poole robbery a few years back. Also, lmao @Larson taking shots at Poole

What did he say about Brennan Poole?

Remember when this was ruled a legal pass?

Already tried bringing that up. Dale got away with that cause he’s Dale. Unfortunately NASCAR doesn’t like when drivers try to “make names for themselves” in a series that advertises that very slogan.

Yes. Prior to the yellow line rule in 2008.
Nascar “clarified” the yellow line rule in 2008. There was still a rule for years before it that said one couldnt advance position unless forced (again a judgement call).

This 2003 instance is still a huge inconsistent call by textbook definition.

What part of “clarified the yellow line rule” don’t you get?
If the line rule was set in 2008, what makes you think it doesn’t exist in 2018?

Race Control and all of their inane rules have just made plate races even worse. It's always something. Seems like most of the time it's figuring out when the caution came out, sometimes illegal passes, sometimes jumping lanes on the restart too quickly. I think last year they waited half a week to call a caution on the backstretch because they wanted to pass the overtime line and just end the race already. Byron won.

“...However, Haley’s No. 24 dipped below the yellow line and per the NASCAR rule book, the pass was ruled illegal, giving the win to Larson...”

Fail inspection: “Give us some points and you can keep the trophy”

Avoid a potential wreck by moving slightly below the yellow line and winning by way more than the “advantage” earned you: “No flag for you except the black one”

This is ticky tacky as ****. This wasn’t the entrance of 3, it was the exit of 4

I saw a guy pass below the yellow line and he wasn’t forced below the yellow line.
Nobody else passed below the yellow line.
Follow the rules or walk to Victory Lane and congratulate the winner.

And the first paragraph is as black and white as you can get.

"Series officials announced Monday what they called a rules clarification to passing under the yellow line at Daytona and Talladega. In essence, NASCAR said clearly and without equivocation that drivers can't go below the yellow line to pass in any circumstance."

huh? you need to take a look at the aerial photos of Daytona. If nothing else, you can see why they have the rule in the first place when it comes down to the finish line. It's a half a mile from 4

NASCAR will not mention the fact that Haley had P1 prior to going below the double line, and could not advance his position further once having gone under the line.

They spent an inadequate amount of time to make a final call and absolutely mishandled it. It’s embarassing and the integrity is dropped again.

I get it but it’s extremely nit picky. In a sport where so many other things are so inconsistent. This guy didn’t drive below the yellow line and advance his position.

First point is exactly my point.

Let’s just agree that we never agree with anything if it involves NASCAR. Lol.
