USPS has cancelled mail delivery in some portions of the mid-west.

Those members in the path of this killer cold, take care to remain safe and at least reasonably warm.
28 here this morning and I haven't left the house. Probably only leave it later to go to the mailbox. My Florida butt aint used to this crap.

-24 and I decided to stay home today. I don't want to tempt fate with an 8 year old battery, it has been working fine this week which surprises me (-17 at the end of the work day for the last 2 days). I keep a battery jump start in the car but a colleague said his wouldn't work after sitting the car all day (mine has been holding a charge). BTW synthetic oil is is the way to go with this weather.

Weather peeps are predicting 3” of rain today, supposed to rain until Tuesday.
30-60 mph winds in some areas, probably only 25 mph here.

The insanity continues. Half a day of waist deep powder followed by the Super Bowl.It really doesn't get any better than this.:D

Had about 20 centimeters (8 inch) of snow and about 0 degrees (32°F) today.
Weather guessers predict 10 degrees (50°F) and sunshine for later this week.
In general, this has been the most "normal" winter we've had in years. In 2017-18 we had two snowy days in december and three snowy days in late March, which were followed by half a year of summer.
In 2016-17 and 15-16 we had just lots of rain and mud all the time and one week in January with half a meter of snow and -20 Degrees (-5°F).

78* and breezy here in central Texas. Doors and windows open to let in some fresh air ---- plus the lovely aroma of my neighbor's grill.
Today, tomorrow and Tuesday are supposed to be very nice, then the roller coaster goes back down.

Highs in the high 60s to low 70s and the lows in the high 50s to low 60s. That's predicted for at least the next week. Perfect weather.

And it just keeps on dumping. I'm betting on Wednesday to be the day where everything will be open and will be a waist-deep day. Damn, I can't wait.:D

3 inches of snow last Monday...Possible 6-8 Friday and another storm next week... Seattle loses its mind with an inch or two. Cars abandoned all along the freeway... It’s like an apocalyptic event...

So far, a high of 35*, not a speck of sunshine, and a lot of on/off sleet/ice BBs all day.
The temperature has been falling here all day. Your posts are always a prelude to what I can expect.

Rain this morning blew out, now it’s 53 and sunny with some puffy clouds.
Gonna rain again tomorrow and probably Wednesday too.
This is the most rain I can remember in the past few years.

At least 3/4 inch of sleet/ice pellets/whatever last night. Kept the front steps swept so it wouldn't accumulate.
Did stay ABOVE freezing, so no problems. Managed to hit 45* today.

10 inches by 1 pm on Sunday. I've missed snow.

It's reeking havoc here. The airport is closed. There are 200 to 300 cars stuck on I-82.

Planned on skiing today, but the Carson Spur is closed due to avalanche control, and from experience, I don't think it will open any time soon today. Plus its blizzard-like conditions and the lifts that take you to the goods wont be opening today IMO. Another 28 inches fell just overnight. Looks like it's gonna be partly cloudy tomorrow so I plan on being one of the first in the lineup to get what will probably be at least 30 inches of fresh powder.:D

More snow on Mt Diablo in the Bay Area. This usually happens once every couple of years and it's happened three times this year and twice in the last week. Snow level is at 1500 ft

Squaw /Alpine received 48 inches overnight. This is insane.

Another big storm rolling thru N Cali and the Sierras with high winds and possible flooding. Was hoping to make some turns today but it's gonna be blizzard like conditions AGAIN with wind gusts up to 140 mph.
