2019 Clash RACE thread

I dont know how many people were there, you took the numbers from someone elses post. It was an exibition race and I would imagine a couple million watched it on TV. Nobody really cares what you think, its obvious to all that you are an antagonist.

I asked a member who was at the race how many people he thought were in attendance. He said 5000 and it surprised me as I thought more people would have attended. What is the problem?

that's what 5 or 6 times about the attendance about a race you didn't watch or attend? Working hard I see.

@SOI ya know as long as NASCARs financial numbers are good everything is lovely. Just thought I'd remind you.

And THAT is why Runt Gordon shouldn’t be in the booth.

Poor Jeff just couldn’t figure out what turned (wrecked) Menard and the field —

So DW had to help him out with the truth, and tell him that Jimmie’s contact with Menard probably had something “to do with it”.

Thank you DW for salvaging what little credibility there is left in the Fox Booth...

Jeff has 93 wins under his belt and the most recent experience with these cars having actually raced them. Jeff knows the contact turned Menard. He’s not blind. It’s finding out why they made contact that takes a little more critical thinking. Looks like they both made an attempt to cut the air on a slick track and got sucked into each other. Racing incident with expendable cars. Movin’ on.

Eh it will give some of them something to whine about. First race an all, it's just started. I guess some of them think that is important, like Jeff is a ref or something.

Jimmie bumped Menard

then Menard’s car turned down from the bump.

It is simple — Jimmie has evolved. He will NOT let Chad beat him this year.

He is coming for THE OCHO!

Runt Gordon lmao. Hate much?

Yeah I wasn’t expecting 40,000 or anything like that but I thought 15-20,000 would have been more like it.
Why are you worried about attendance for an exhibition race? Were you worried about how many fans showed up for Daytona 500 qualifying earlier in the day?

Ok thought Jimmy cut it way too close, didn’t have anything more than a foot or two inside before making contact. I didn’t see Menard come down but it may have been a tad as the airflow changed.

Bad crowd but the weather forecast might have kept many away.

When you were a kid? When was that? I promise more watched on TV today then back then.
I started going to that race 25 years ago. I'm 32 now.

That's fine if they watched on TV. There's less seats now and a lot less people in them, so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I wasn't really complaining about attendance as much as I was complaining about their asinine ticket, and even food prices for an exhibition event with half a field full of half-assing drivers.

Reading these comments and getting ready to deal with all this nonsense this year

Not sure what the issue is as I thought more than 5000 would attend. Is there something wrong with thinking that?

I like Jeff for the most part, but he was definitely bias on this incident imo. Avoiding blame on JJ it seemed.

I think it's as simple as Jimmie misjudged where Menard's left rear was going to be or got aero sucked into Menard's left rear, in either case Johnson has to take full blame for hooking the leader in the left rear and wiping out the field. I don't think Menard tried anything except holding his line, he doesn't come down until he's already hit in the left rear imo.

Just my take. Moving' on to the 500!
