I've been a huge fan of Auto Club Speedway since I was there for the 2013 showdown, but the fact that the track is way out in Fontucky / an Inland Empire trashhole doesn't help the facility. Wish it was in Orange County or San Diego County.

If I recall, the property was available relatively cheap.

That's prime real estate brah. If it was in SD, it'd be out in El Cajon somewhere, same demographic tendencies ;). It's in a good centered position for people coming from multiple directions imo, neutral meetup spot. Well taken care of facility, and I hope they never repave it, it's my favorite track on the schedule.

It's been a packed house there both times I've gone. The first time, I took my Dad, 14 rows up, we forgot our earplugs , bought some by lap 30. That was my 1st race, and my biggest take away from it, was just how loud the cars were, sounded like a jet engine. We were positioned right where they were ripping off of pit road going into turn 1. LOUD. That was 2015, the year Ragan was driving the 18 car filling in for KB.

I would have preferred a dumphole in El Cajon or elsewhere than Fontana. It's a good track, just meh location in the LA market.

Definitely a lot easier getting in and out of than Las Vegas, absolutely.

I don't have a problem with Fontana at all. Honestly, a nice little place. Baldy is beautiful. Can't wait.

I remember when Fontana was single file file mileage runs. Locals talked about plates to spice things up. The racing got much better, and that died away. The potential effect of the rule changes just might give us a peek into what plates might have looked here. It is going to be very, very interesting IMO. Can't wait to see how it all plays out. I have a feeling it is going to be very, very good.

That is one of my greatest memories of a NASCAR race that we attended. Gordon was much faster and it seemed almost impossible that Harvick could hold him off, but he did. For that race my son and I moved down next to the fence for the last 30 laps and I remember all of us standing and cheering Harvick on. I think even the harcore Gordon fans wanted Harvick to win this one. Amazing experience, just wished the circumstances that caused it had not happened.

Feeling a Penske win here

I was gonna post something about that as well Chex. California and Michigan may put on some of the best races of the season if this was any indication. Was absolutely wild to watch on tracks this wide, 4 wide with the draft is nuts. Looked like the trucks at Eldora

iRacing got inside info on the aero package, mapped it into their game and here is a good idea of what it may look like on Sunday.

Caught some of that. Dega-lite. ****.

since they are in Fontana this week, did anyone on here ever attend a race at Ontario Speedway? I dont know much about the place except it was a failed replica of Indianapolis Motor speedway.

Well at the risk of everyone say "oh sure" we were there for this one too Two great finished in a row.
I saw so many Labonte wins at Atlanta that I can't tell you if I was there for this one or not. Is this the one that was held on a Monday because it rained Sunday? If so, then I was indeed there for this one.
