hope so. competition (parity) is going to get nothing but better as the races continue this year. Just like the year before.

To be fair, Austin seems like a stout qualifier, and Ty and Bubba had decent showings last time out. Or maybe I'm being an optimist. A JJ win would be a nice early birthday present.

Qualifying is not the problem. Seriously, I have no energy or appetite to "fix" qualifying. It is merely a symptom of the real problem... cars with flaccid engines pulling parachutes around and stuck like glue by excessive downforce. Fix that and you've fixed qualifying.
