Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I met Benny Parsons at Talladega when he was still an ARCA driver. I was just a kid working on Bill Clemons race team, just another person in the office getting our entry passes. Benny was talking to Bill then For some reason Benny starting talking to me and speaking to me as if I were somebody. Benny was a genuine nice guy. A very interesting person to converse with. I think he and Ned Jarret along with Allen Bestwich were the best announcers NASCAR has ever had.
I like Michael Waltrip as a driver but not so much as an announcer, same with Burton. I am glad DW is being retired from announcing the Monster Energy. DW isn't so bad, but like the rest of the bunch, they talk too much.
Jeff Gordon is too pro Rick Hendrick, he should go on and tell everyone that Hendrick Racing has gone down hill every since Nascar starting making sure that race teams put all 5 lug nuts on each wheel during pit stops.
Seems like those Hendricks teams passed more cars in the pits than on the track by having quicker pit stops, most likely leaving a few lug nuts off.
That and having fresher tires. It takes months to manufacturer all the tires for a Nascar event and as soon as a tire is made it starts getting hard. Ever Notice that when the teams come to get their tires they are already sorted out. ( why )
Remember the time Junior Johnson had the best 2 cars on the circuit and when one crashed out, every pit team wanted their tires. Junior started auctioning them off and was getting more than what he paid for them.
What should that tell you ?

The newest episode of the Dale jr Download is amazing. Michael Waltrip is the guest and the content is about what you'd imagine and it provides incredible insight. Quite a few things I never knew before.

It is also evident that MW is still very hurt over the passing of Big E. It is a bit of a tear jerker at points. Go listen.

Got GA Fri/Sat tickets to New Hampshire in July, Row 30 turn 1-2 tickets on Sunday with a weekend Fanvision all for $76 total with my NH3 code ($126 without it).

Meanwhile Sonoma is $145 the whole weekend for a decent esses seat without any scanners/rentals for cheap ahead of time etc.

Mostly because he loses his mind every race, even the ones that he wins. And he's getting worse.
hard to argue that point I have to admit. Whatever, he has a long way to go regardless. But I am sure we will hear about it ad nausea, nobody else is close. Right now there is a pretty big gap between the youngsters and the older drivers but that could change in the future. We all have experienced the Kyle when things don't go his way, he is hard to find and who wants to.

It sounds sorta like a sweetheart deal, but according to Bob Pockrass, it is a standard outcome in that jurisdiction for a first offense with no crashed car, no injuries. And the drug charges were dropped because France provided a valid prescription.

More importantly, Nascar declined comment completely... which sends the message that they have moved on from the Brian France era. Good riddance.

The “showman” is running out of shows, tomorrow will be the end of my career in tv here on the east coast, it’s been fun being the show, now I will become a part of the show!!

There used to be manufacturer loyalty not anymore. It’s so funny how the drivers would show their personal cars and they were always the same as what they were driving at the time. Then they switched makes and suddenly all their cars or trucks were from that make. Some drivers have drove all 3 of the current ones.
Back in the old days it could have been a whole lot more.
