How long will this pre-race thread become before the green flag Sunday? I'm saying 6-7 pages of back-and-forth plate racing opinions that no online sentiment being will be able to change the opinion of another online sentient being.

I Love Dega. Separates the men from the boys as well as seeing who has the biggest balls. Always loved how openly drivers feared this place unless your last name was Allison or Earnhardt, this is the most baddest and fastest track in all the land.

Obviously I'm a bit younger than the old timers, but everybody talks about Earnhardt in 2000, some of Dale Jr's wins in the 2000's, but Keselowski put on a performance I always remembered at Talladega back in 2014:

Chase and Joey being down to Bowman and Byron after a single bad race is ****** ridiculous...

The biggest bummer for me is that the 9 team made it a point this year to win early and come into this thing with more playoff points because they knew that's what cost them last year. They did that, and were set up so perfectly after the roval win to finally push to Homestead, and they may go out even earlier now. It's just so frustrating.

I dont think you can work with Bowman and Byron at Dega if you're him. All bets are off at this point. It'll be another manufacturer fest but I'd specifically look to Jimmie, Buescher, and Kurt for help who he worked great with here in the Spring.

I hate Talladega. If it separates the men from the boys, it doesn't do it by far enough to keep the boys' mistakes from ruining the mens' race; the biggest balls are often destroyed by the smallest brains. I hate that the fastest car is actually handicapped by trying to get away from the pack. I hate that drivers are dependent on the charity of other drivers, esp. when the manufacturers start leaning on them. I'm pretty sure it's not even the fastest anymore.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm done. My obligation has been fulfilled, my duty done.

fair enough I cant hate your opinion its what you believe. Preach! (However I will say Dega was cooler when there was an Earnhardt in the field. Still weird to me that Jr isnt racing at these races anymore, it hits me when they hit the Talladega stop twice a year.)

I like Talledaga

A thorough test of the Teams, Cars, Crews, and Drivers throughout the 36 Race Season (+ other events) with broad diversity of Races and Tracks. Talladega is a keeper -- IMHO.

I don't agree with yours but I'll defend your right to have and express it. After all, it's just sports.

Playoff talladega has unfortunately devolved into a team orders, pussyfoot race. But otherwise it is my second favorite track.

All plate races have devolved into this since about 2005.

I exaggerate, but Bowman has pissed off like 2/3 of the field so I don’t see many people working with him anyway.

tin foil hat time: NASCAR wants, no, NEEDS Chase in the final 4. That said, only being 7 points out, I think Chase will be fine. What really hurt is a likely elimination car in the 42 won Dover and advanced.

I remember for a while, Brad was the best plate racer in the business.

I remember as a fan, I was terrified of the plate races out of fear of my favorite driver flipping. After 2009, that fear subsided.

Why do you think the 9 team couldn't work with Bowman? Didn't Bowman push Elliott to a win last year and a few on here were banging on Bowman because Bowman didn't try to pass Elliott and came in second? I don't remember which track it was at but it would be the one where Elliott won and Bowman came in second.

Chase can't afford to lose stage points to he and Byron by riding around behind them. He'll get himself eliminated doing that. Teamwork is obviously a big part of racing on the speedways, but at some point selfishness has to take over when you're in this position and racing for your playoff life.

And no, Bowman didn't push him to a win, they started on the front row the final restart and Chase got a push and dropped down in front of him. Chase got the lead in that race on his own by passing Joey and Kurt.
